I've been with them for over a decade…
I've been with them for over a decade now, they are underrated IMO, I'm simply writing this review because I was shocked to see it scoring so low, esp considering I've always found them to be super reliable. The only reason I can't give it 5/5 is that it has a tad less servers than all other VPN services out there, but then again, the price is amazing with Airvpn, so I can't complain.. but its always superfast.. I tend to use the Eddie client on all devices, which I find works well, but of course AIRVPN is slightly more aimed at the technical users rather than novice-vpn users... but even on default settings, it works well with my extensive testing/and use over the years.

Over subscribed, far too slow now.
When I first got AirVPN it was fast. Now it's often so slow, it's simply not fit for purpose. Websites hang for ages before eventually loading. Downloading is incredibly slow a lot of the time. Sometimes it's fast. It's very random. There is no continuity of service. One minute the speeds fast, the next minute it's one tenth of what it was. Literally turning the VPN off on the Eddie client, results in an immediate speed increase to my full ISP paid for speed, so I'm certain it's not my connection. Even changing different protocols in case it was my ISP throttling the VPN addresses, this achieved nothing. So I bought access to another VPN provider, and I can confirm it's fast, so I know for sure it's AirVPN causing the slow speed. There was a big noticeable drop on speed after the Christmas period. It's clear to me that their Black Friday deals have drastically over subscribed their VPN server usage. My membership is not even finished, but I felt compelled to buy a membership to another VPN provider.

While researching VPN providers that offer dedicated IP addresses I stumbled upon a review comparing AirVPN with another provider. I was curious about the relative "unbiased" group perception of both providers (which as it turns out are very similar). I was staggered to see all the negative reviews for AirVPN and so felt I had to add my own experience. I have been using AirVPN for several years (I've lost count but it's more than 10). I had some trouble initially but mainly this was due to me being new to VPN setup. On the whole (once I got it going) it's been very reliable and fast. Once in a blue moon there is a problem with a VPN server but this soon gets fixed. If you can't wait then it's trivial to switch to a different (working) server. In the early days I used to see server problems about twice a month on average. I had one a couple of days ago and before that I haven't seen one this year! To be fair most of the faults are hardware related (sometimes line connections to the internet) but who hasn't had the odd BT fault and you can't blame those on AirVPN. I've tried a few other VPN's and always come back to AirVPN. They are honest and provide a secure service unlike some others out there. If you're going to write a bad review about them then you should compare them to some of the real cowboys out there first. One last thought: if you don't have any computer or network experience then don't blame someone else for your ignorance. Look for help and you'll find it. If someone gifts you a Ferrari are you really going to refuse it because you don't like the colour.

Good but lack of consistency
For torrenting / P2P use. The port forwarding is pretty good and there's perfect integration into Gluetun environment with good download speed. Billing is decent, can choose 3 months subscription at decent price. But their servers are saturated and can't rely on consistent upload speed. It's overall pretty slow.

Awful experience, do not recommend AirVPN
Awful experience with their VPN. Started having horrible speeds after a month of use, contacted their support to help me out, which they ended up saying that it was my fault. I told them my speeds are fine without VPN and that if they didn't help me fix my issue, I'd have to ask for a refund. Without a word from them, the very next day I received a refund and cannot access to their website anymore since they banned me. Very immature behaviour.
