A great holiday ruined by terrible customer service. DO NOT USE ALGARVE LOCATIONS. It is not the money I am worried about, it is principle. They REFUSED to return my deposit after claiming the bed had been damaged - with no photo evidence. The only photos they had were of deity towels? We neatly stacked them for the cleaners before we left? Either way terrible customer service DO NOT USE THEM. Rude, thieving individuals who should be prosecuted as this is fraud in my book!

Great stay, terrible ending
We stayed 11 nights at a villa near Faro this summer with our family. The house itself was lovely and the location was excellent — genuinely, we had a great holiday and I want to say that up front. A week after checkout we were told €199 of our €400 breakage deposit was being kept for an outdoor rattan chair that gave way while someone was sitting on it. No warning, no conversation, just an email with photos. What bothers me isn't the money — it's about 1% of what we paid. It's how the dispute was handled. Nobody met us at check-in or walked us through the property, so we had no chance to flag anything on arrival. An identical chair sells new for a fraction of what we were charged. I asked to see the pre-arrival inspection report they say proves the chair was fine, and I never got it. I asked to speak to the property manager and was refused. Within days the answer was simply "final decision." We've rented plenty of places in Portugal and never run into this. Read the recent reviews before you book — we wish we had.

We rented a villa in Albufeira in August. The communication and online support were good, both before and during our stay. The villa and its amenities were exactly as described. However, I am giving 3 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons: Early check-in policy: They will never provide an early check-in because they run a paid luggage storage business. When you arrive early, they direct you to store your bags in their "check-in center" (which has no air conditioning). In our case, we were charged €75 to store six suitcases for about 4 hours. At almost any hotel or villa rental company, this service is free. Lack of basic: I rent villas frequently for my holidays, but I have never experienced a welcome like this. The house only had toilet paper. There was absolutely nothing else inside—not even hand soap or a bottle of water! You have to go out and buy all the bare necessities yourself immediately. Deposit refund: They process the deposit refund 14 days after the departure date! This has never happened to me before, and it made me really anxious, especially after reading other reviews about this issue with Algarve Vacation.

Bad experience with this company
Bad experience with this company. We rented a house. It was surely not what they adverted on the internet, but ok, probably every company does this... (?) Alarm did not work, and by sheer coincidence, there was a break-in by someone who had a key. They couldn't care less... Very rude, not helpful. Will never again rent with these people.
