Definitely avoid them
They charged us for a small dent on the hood, even though we had taken out a comprehensive insurance policy when picking up the car. We reported the damage upon returning the vehicle—which had occurred that very day—but they claimed it had already been noted previously. Their justification was: “Once the car is returned, damage can no longer be reported.” Their conduct was improper and deliberately unclear. I strongly advise against using them.

Experiencia muy negativa con Amigo Rent a Car (Contrato AT045468). Tras un accidente, solicitamos la presencia del perito, pero nunca apareció. Aun así, nos exigieron el pago inmediato de 1.800 USD, sin informe pericial, sin presupuesto y sin facturas de la grúa ni de la reparación. Teníamos contratado el seguro todo riesgo, pero nunca se nos explicó por qué no se aplicó. Durante el traslado en grúa fuimos presionados para pagar en ese momento, indicándonos que podríamos quedarnos sin asistencia si no lo hacíamos. Pagamos bajo esa presión, sin conocer el coste real de los daños. También dejamos una fianza de 300 USD, que no ha sido devuelta ni justificada. Nos aseguraron por teléfono que enviarían las facturas. Nunca lo hicieron. Hemos enviado varios correos reclamando explicaciones y no hemos recibido ninguna respuesta, lo que demuestra una grave falta de transparencia y profesionalidad. No recomiendo esta empresa.

Very poor customer service, 4 emails and numerous WhatsApp conversations and still no booking . They simply can not be trusted unhelpful

Great price, great vehicle, great service
1. The AmiGo representative met us at the Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, where he helped us withdraw Colones from the ATM before putting our group of 6 into the shuttle to the AmiGo agency. 2. The cost of the van we had reserved for 9 days was thousands of dollars less than a comparable one from Alamo, which is the car rental agency I use in the US (I'm an Alamo "Insider"). 3. The AmiGO agent efficiently handled the paperwork and explained the features of our brand new Toyota Hiachi 12-passenger van. 3. The van easily accommodated our party of 6. I especially appreciated the turning radius of the Toyota Hiachi, which is better than our Toyota Prius at home! In addition, the last row of seats was collapsed giving us additional storage space. 4. Upon our return nine days later and the agent's inspection of the vehicle, our $1500 damage deposit "disappeared." 5. A shuttle promptly returned us to the airport.

Charged us $250 dollars for a little…
Charged us $250 dollars for a little bit of sand left in the car (after we had rented it for a month). If the price is slightly lower on price comparison sites, don't be fooled. Their business model is designed to extract money from you elsewhere. Will never use again.
