We had a very disappointing experience…
We had a very disappointing experience with this company. When we visited their office, we were told I was too young to rent a car because I am 23 and their minimum age is 26. We explained that my travel companion is 26 and would be the only driver, but after calling the manager, they still refused to rent us a car. We were told this was because they had recently experienced several accidents involving younger customers. We found this unfair and discriminatory, as our driver met their stated age requirement, yet we were refused based on assumptions about our age rather than the actual rental conditions. Thankfully, our hotel helped us rent a car from another company (Taxi van kalyves) without any problems, and everything went perfectly for the rest of our holiday. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we cannot recommend this company.

NO WORRIES WITH THIS COMPANY.
NO WORRIES WITH THIS COMPANY. We rented a small car for our 6 days in Crete, we were collected from the airport with our bags and driven to their office (which is pretty much 150 yards from the airport) The car was in good condition with low mileage, it did have some minimal damage (stone chips and small scratches) but this was all recorded by the lady issuing the car, ours was the Panda hybrid which was really economical, we looked after the car and returned it in the same state it was taken, the lady looked around the car when we returned and nothing was said about paying any more for “made up” damages, this is a good trustworthy company, I wouldn’t hesitate to use again if we come back to Crete. Thanks Autoclub for being a good, no worries, honest company. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Another good experience with AutoClub
After my excellent experience with AutoClub last year, I went back to them again this year, and honestly they didn't disappoint. Everything was smooth from the start. When we arrived in Heraklion, the paperwork was already sorted, and the staff explained everything clearly, especially the insurance options (full cover with no excess). The car itself was clean, modern, and ran perfectly, no issues at all. Returning it was just as easy. The only small downside (and the reason for knocking off a star) was that the car came with just a quarter tank of fuel. It’s a pretty common practice, but still a bit annoying—you have to find a petrol station almost right away, and it’s basically impossible to return it with exactly the same level, so you end up overfilling. I wish they used a full-to-full fuel policy.

Wir sind super begeistert von dem tollen Service! Bereits bei der Buchung wurde mir stets zügig per Mail geantwortet. Vor Ort auf Kreta ging alles wahnsinnig schnell und reibungslos. Wir hatten bereits eine WhatsApp Nachricht erhalten mit Foto welches Fahrzeug uns abholen kommt und 3 Minuten später wurden wir bereits abgeholt. Die Übergabe des gewünschten Autos verlief sehr zügig, wir sollten die vorhandenen Schäden mit dem Handy filmen, bekamen eine Einweisung und bezahlen konnten wir direkt vor Ort in bar ohne Kaution hinterlegen zu müssen. Die Rückgabe war auch super einfach und auch dann wieder ein sofortiger Shuttle Service zum Flughafen. Also wirklich, ganz großes Lob! Der Service in Deutschland dagegen war die reinste Katastrophe. Da können sich die Leute noch was vom Autoclub abschauen;) Preislich war es auch sehr günstig! Alles in allem ein Träumchen . Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder hier buchen. Herzlichen Dank!

Excellent car hire company
I have hired cars in many countries and have only experienced such great service before. They were waiting for us as soon as we came out of terminal, took us straight to pickup our car. Took us round vehicle for inspection. Free second driver. No hassle about extra insurance,gave us price and said we could take it or leave it. When we returned car they just had a quick look round and then took us to airport in the hire car to save us time. The staff were very efficient and friendly, will certainly use them again when on Crete.
