Feels like the ole bait and switch when…
Feels like the ole bait and switch when they give estimates that are 4x lower than what you actually have to pay with insurance. Then they take 4 months to bill you and all of a sudden you are hit with 4 months of way over estimate therapy bills. I was quoted $31/month with insurance and then 4 months later my HSA card just started filling up with charges 4x over the estimate from claims processed months earlier. Unclear billing and, to top it all off, customer service takes days to respond.

Good afternoon. I used betterhelp about a year ago. The most memorable moment, was when I was exhausted from work and I cancelled on my therapist last minute. The next time I talked to him, he paused for a moment and got quiet and said, “You know this is the only way I get paid, right? When you cancel I dont get paid for the appointment” with a super creepy look on his face. A therapist with an RN degree is saying this to his exhausted first responder worker patient. I found another better therapist but I just had to get this off my chest.

It was a very frustrating experience
It was a very frustrating experience, they don't allow for flexible scheduling and then you lose your sessions, and you can't purchase sessions one at a time, you have to buy them in packs. Not transparent in this at the time of signing up either. I feel rather cheated.

Awful company
Awful company. The therapists on that site are generally pretty bad. But I had one that really took the cake. I was experiencing passive suicidal ideation. I did not want to act on the feelings, which is why I was seeking out therapy. Just to repeat, they were passive. And so I try to get connected with a therapist and I send her a message about what was going on in my life, and in detail what I was there for and what I needed from therapy. She literally in the first sentence indicates she didn't read my message by saying "So why are you in therapy?". Not only that, but she just straight up told me, and I quote verbatim, that I'm a liability because I had suicidal thoughts. My therapist literally told me I'm a liability. This site is trash. They're also incredibly expensive. Their ads are shady and predatory. It's like the McDonald's of therapy.
