My partner and I ended up booking our trip with Circling Colombia after a friend recommended them. He had traveled with them before and couldn't stop talking about how well everything had been organized, so when we decided to visit Colombia, they were our first call. Since we only had a few days available, we decided to focus on just one destination: Bogotá. We spent four days there, and before the trip, we told Luisa that our biggest interests were history and food. She absolutely nailed it. Not only were the experiences themselves fantastic, but every restaurant she recommended ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. It honestly felt like she knew Bogotá's food scene inside and out. Our first unforgettable meal was at Prudencia, where we stopped for lunch during our walking tour through La Candelaria. The tasting menu lasted almost two hours, and every minute was worth it. Every course somehow managed to be even better than the one before. The grilled vegetables with the house-made oils and sauces were incredible, the porchetta was perfectly cooked, and the dessert featuring cacao mucilage was unlike anything we'd ever tasted. The next day we had dinner at Nueve, a small, charming restaurant just a short walk from our hotel. The cocktails alone are worth a visit. We tried one made with biche, a traditional spirit from Colombia's Pacific coast, and it was one of the most interesting drinks we had during the trip. Our favorite dish was the pirarucú, an enormous freshwater fish native to the Amazon. It was our first time trying it, and it definitely won't be our last. On our final evening, we ate at Afluente, and this may have been the biggest surprise of the trip. The restaurant has a very creative approach to Colombian cuisine, using native ingredients and unexpected combinations of spices and flavors. Every dish felt original without trying too hard. The duck and the lamb were easily our favorites, and it's one of those meals we'll still be talking about years from now. We also loved that these meals never felt like they had been chosen simply because they're popular with tourists. Each restaurant had its own personality, and together they gave us a much deeper appreciation for Bogotá's culinary scene. A huge thank you to Luisa and everyone at Circling Colombia for taking care of every detail throughout the trip. Knowing that all the logistics had been handled allowed us to simply enjoy the experience. We came to Bogotá expecting great history and culture, but we left equally impressed by its food. The city's culinary scene is world-class, and honestly, it's reason enough to plan a trip.

My wife and I live in Toronto and we recently spent some time traveling around Colombia. We were looking for something beyond the typical tourist itinerary… we love nature, wildlife, good food, and of course some adventure so we wanted a trip that would let us experience different sides of the country and something that shows us what Colombia is about. After doing some research we came across Circling Colombia online and we got in touch with Luisa and her team. From the start, they were easy going and fun to work with. I found that they were genuinely interested in understanding what kind of experience we were looking for. They helped us put together an itinerary based on what we were looking for… tailor made for us, you could say. So we started in Bogotá, exploring La Candelaria and visiting places like the Gold Museum and the Botero Museum and a few days later, we headed to Suesca for a rock climbing experience which was unexpectedly super fun!!! From there, we traveled to the Coffee Region. The Cocora Valley was one of those experiences that is hard to describe until you see it for yourself, its beauty is astounding. We even saw a condor flying around the wax palms for a while! We also visited a traditional coffee farm and got to learn more about the coffee making process while enjoying some amazing views. If you like coffee, this is a must do activity. Back in Bogotá, we joined a food tour that ended up being one of the surprises of the trip. It was a great way to learn more about Colombian culture through its food and local stories. The biggest highlight of our trip was going to the Meta region and the rafting adventure through the Guejar River Canyon. This was easily one of the most impressive natural places we’ve ever visited… the water, the waterfalls, the rock formations, the jungle around the canyon… everything felt untouched and incredibly beautiful. The rafting itself was exciting without being overwhelming, and it gave us a chance to experience the landscape from a completely different perspective. It was one of those days we’ll be talking about for years. What stood out throughout the trip was how smooth everything felt. The guides were fun, knowledgeable, professional, and clearly passionate about sharing their country. We felt that they worked really hard to make our trip a beautiful experience that will be forever tattooed in our minds. We came back to Toronto with amazing memories and great coffee, of course, and with a much deeper appreciation for Colombia. So ifyou’re looking for an authentic, well-organized experience and want to see places that many visitors never get to see, just book with Circling Colombia, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Tomas and Luisa 🙏
