I’m very disappointed with the service
I’m very disappointed with the service. I had at City go on my voucher I was quoted a price I paid it when I arrived at the airport. They charge me €25 airport tax which was not mentioned in the voucher and online. It showed me that all local taxes were paid they try to scam tourists for extra pennies. I will not be using them again and I will be charging back the undeclared fees that I was forced to pay or go without the car from my credit card please be aware of this avoid if you can.

Avoid CITYGO Rent a Car Very bad experience with CITYGO Rent a Car in St Julian's. There is no proper rental desk. They drive to you and handle the entire transaction on the street, which already felt strange and unprofessional. The car was what we needed and the AC worked well, but the overall condition of the vehicle was poor. The real problem started with the payment and deposit. I was charged more than the price I had booked, with the difference supposedly related to fuel, even though the car was only about half full. They also tried to require a much higher deposit than the one stated in my booking. When the deposit could not be blocked, they pressured me into taking their additional insurance, making it clear that otherwise I would not get the car. It felt like a setup where you are given one price when booking and then presented with additional costs once they have you standing there with your luggage and no realistic alternative. Not acceptable. I would not recommend CITYGO or CarJet. Check everything very carefully before booking and be prepared for unexpected charges.

Très mauvaise expérience avec cette société, et surtout un service client vraiment décevant. J’ai contacté la société par WhatsApp, puisque c’est clairement indiqué sur leur site comme moyen de contact pour toute question. Mon objectif était simplement d’obtenir des informations avant de réserver une voiture. J’ai posé deux questions différentes: une concernant le prix total de la location et une concernant l’assurance et ce qu’elle couvre exactement. Au lieu de répondre clairement à mes questions, la personne ne répond pas correctement et donne des informations qui ne correspondent même pas à leurs propres conditions générales. Par exemple, leurs conditions indiquent un supplément de 7 € par jour pour les conducteurs de 21 à 24 ans, alors qu’on m’annonce 9 €. Pour la caution, leurs conditions indiquent entre 1’500 € et 4’800 €, alors qu’on m’annonce 400 €. Je demande donc simplement pourquoi il y a une différence entre leurs conditions et les informations qu’on me donne sur WhatsApp. Et au lieu d’essayer de clarifier la situation, on me répond finalement, en gros, **d’aller voir une autre société de location* Je trouve ça complètement hallucinant. Je contacte le service indiqué sur leur propre site pour avoir des renseignements avant de réserver, et au lieu de m’aider ou de répondre clairement, on me fait comprendre que je peux aller louer ailleurs. Si vous n’êtes même pas capables de répondre correctement aux questions de vos clients potentiels, surtout concernant les tarifs, la caution et l’assurance, je ne vois pas pourquoi vous indiquez WhatsApp comme contact pour toute question. Expérience très décevante. Je ne louerai certainement pas chez eux et je déconseille.

I found these cowboys through carjet I paid extra for Platinum Insurance where i had to pay £1800 exes which would be reimbursed through insurance in case of a accident Then i had to pay 99.50 euro on arrival Yesterday 11/8/26 they turned up with the car and charged me £170 After adding another £75 for insurance which i already paid i told then that They said that’s with the main booking company and they require their own insurance They held £1800 exes fee on my credit card as well I used a credit card that’s what they didn’t like to start with Then i said i will inspect the car It was battered and they didn’t want to mark visible dents on the mark sheet Insisting take a video After a few minutes i had enough i said if you don’t mark it I’m nit taking it Went inside the hotel lobby where my brother was doing his paperwork and he paid using a normal card The y charged him £275 when initial price was £132 My brother told him the same he will inspect the car or he will nit take it as well Then they kick off 2 of them Stormed out of the hotel saying they will nit refund his money On the way out they nearly run me over when they drove off like they just committed a robbery I have everything on camera on my phone including footage from the hotel cameras We went straight to the police to report it and after 3 hours were told it is a consumer issue Even though i showed them the footage clearly showing he hit me with his car I reported all this to the British Embassy and they are dealing with it now I just want to enjoy my holiday with my family now and head back home Do not use this company Today we are renting from the hotel Turns out they have a reputable company inside Malta is a amazing country with loads of history Wouldn’t have thought this would happen to us in a Christian European Country Stay safe everyone

Since 25/7 waiting for my money to be available
After an initial experience that wasn't very pleasant—since they tried to give us a car with only two opening front windows, one of which was broken—they switched us to a car in better condition, despite initially claiming they didn't have another one available. At the end of the rental, they quote a timeframe of three to four weeks to return the €2,500 deposit, with no guarantee that the four-week deadline will actually be met. This rental was made with VIP Cars, that contract with City Go. I am referring to reservation G92383109
