I’m extremely frustrated by CNN’s decision to put so much basic news behind a paywall. News—particularly major breaking news and information that affects the public—is fundamentally different from entertainment or premium content. People should be able to access reliable reporting without having to subscribe just to understand what is happening in the world. I understand that journalism is expensive and that news organizations need sustainable business models. But putting increasingly large amounts of basic reporting behind a paywall comes with a serious cost: public trust and access to information. CNN has long been one of the major news organizations people turn to during elections, crises, disasters, wars, and other major events. When essential reporting becomes something you have to pay to access, it risks creating an information gap between people who can afford multiple news subscriptions and those who cannot. Over time, I believe this could damage CNN’s credibility and relationship with the public. A news organization should be trying to make trustworthy information more accessible, not less. When major news sources put basic news behind paywalls, democracy suffers. An informed public is essential to a functioning democracy, and access to credible information shouldn't become a luxury product. CNN should reconsider how aggressively it is putting ordinary news behind a paywall. There is a legitimate place for premium content and subscription services, but basic, consequential news should remain accessible to everyone. This feels like a disappointing direction for an organization that has historically played such an important role in keeping the public informed.

CNN All Access
CNN All Access: First the app stopped working on my Smart TV. Then I found I could access it via the Amazon Prime app, although I subscribed directly through CNN. Today, I'm getting "Oops, something went wrong. Try again later" on my smart TV and something about "tokenexchange" when I sign in on my computer. I've tried the trouble shooting ideas on CNN's help site with no success. My computer is Windows 11 and up to date. I'm sure CNN would tell me that the problem is on my end, but, I can't find it. There should be a "Give my money back" option when cancelling an All Access subscription after a short period of time.

CNN is an absolute bloody joke. United States Senator Lindsay Graham is eulogized just now.. CNN said nothing about it. Thankfully, Fox carried the service. CNN, you are the armpit of the world!! no wonder nobody watches you! You’re a joke
