Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible, I would not recommend using this company. My University said this course should’ve been free however I was prompted to enter a credit card and would only be charged after a seven day trial period. I completed the certificate class within the trial date so I would not be charged and they would not release my certificate even though I had completed the class and even though they showed and had record that the class should’ve already been free through my university.

The Site is a buggy nightmare with no support
I was enrolled in a "Write your first Novel" course. I did my first two assignments and then went to the discussion panel to try to connect to other learners. I found a writing group in there that I really wanted to join so I attempted to post a reply. It told me that there was something wrong with my reply and to try again. There was nothing objectively wrong with my post, but I rewrote it regardless to appease the silly AI system they have. It still would not work. Some people suggested online that you needed to first create your own thread before you could reply to other people's threads. So I went to write my own and hit post, only for it to tell me, "You have posted too many time in a short period of time, Please wait to retry." I went to check the other post to see if it accidentally went through and spammed my message....it had not. So not only was I now unable to post I also was unable to make a thread in order to post. So I waited 24 hours for the timeout to roll over and tried again...and got the exact same message over and over. I finally gave up trying to fix this on my own only to find out that unless you are a paying customer you cannot get help from the staff. So after all of that wild goose chasing I deleted my account and I will not be back. Their site is a complete buggy nightmare that will run you in circles and then provide no support. PS. You wanna know one of the solutions that was offered in one of their articles? Yeah, they told me to go post about it in the discussion forum to get help from the community. You know...the same discussion forum that I was UNABLE TO POST IN.

Bait and switch
Bait and switch, lure you in with a free course, tell you: no charges unless you proceed with course. Charge you monthly no recourse to cancel, no customer service access AI ONLY and canned responses that get you nowhere. Stay far away.

The Certificate Paywall Scam: How Coursera Hooks You for Zero Career Value
TL;DR: Coursera relies on misleading trial marketing and delivers credentials that carry little to no weight with real employers. Save your money and use free or better alternatives. The "Free Trial" Certificate Trap Coursera heavily advertises 7-day free trials under the names of major corporate certificate programs. What they bury in the fine print is that you cannot actually earn or download a certificate during the trial period. Even if you put in the hours and finish the course materials early, you are forced to either end your trial and pay immediately or wait for the automatic renewal charge to hit your card. Advertising a free trial for a credential you cannot obtain for free is a frustrating bait-and-switch. Zero Real-World Career Value Beyond the billing tactics, the actual return on investment is minimal. Having completed multiple certificate programs on the platform, I found they provided virtually no practical career advancement: Shallow Content: Most courses barely scratch the surface of the subject matter and rely heavily on basic multiple-choice quizzes that anyone can pass without truly mastering the skills. No Employer Recognition: Hiring managers and recruiters generally view these as simple completion badges rather than proof of real technical competence or professional experience. Outdated Labs: Interactive exercises and platform tooling often feel disconnected from current industry workflows. Better Alternatives Exist Paying high recurring subscription fees for basic video lectures makes no sense when the same information is readily available elsewhere: YouTube: Offers complete, up-to-date, and free project-based walkthroughs created by active industry practitioners. Degreed or Official Vendor Training: Provides far better enterprise-grade structure, hands-on practice, and direct alignment with real technical credentials. Coursera prioritizes subscription traps over genuine learning value. Skip the monthly fees and look to platforms that focus on practical skill-building rather than paper badges.
