⭐ 1/5 — Would not recommend. I paid over £600 for a turbo from this company and the whole experience has been an absolute nightmare. After fitting the turbo, it developed a ticking noise. I contacted the company and paid out of my own pocket to send it back to them for inspection. They inspected it and told me there were “no obvious signs of damage”. However, instead of returning the turbo to me assembled and ready to refit, they sent it back IN PIECES. I’m not a turbo specialist and obviously don’t have the specialist equipment/balancing machinery required to properly rebuild and balance a turbocharger, so I had to send it back to them AGAIN — once again paying the postage myself. They then agreed to reassemble it as a “gesture of goodwill”. I’ve now received it back, gone to install it yet again, and discovered obvious physical damage that prevents me from correctly fitting the blow-off valve. So after spending £600+ on the turbo, paying return postage multiple times and wasting hours of my own time removing, preparing and attempting to refit it, I STILL don’t have a turbo I can simply fit and use. I have tried to be patient and give them opportunities to resolve the problem, but this has gone far beyond what I consider reasonable. I have kept photographs of the condition of the turbo, postage receipts and correspondence documenting what has happened. Based entirely on my experience, I would not recommend this company. For £600+ I expected a working, usable turbo — not months of hassle, repeated postage costs and a turbo returned to me in a condition that I still cannot install.

Please never buy on Darkside Development
I placed an order with Darkside Developments because they offered exactly the type of kit I was looking for. However, when my order failed to arrive, I contacted customer service, who responded fairly quickly and told me they would investigate the matter. Unfortunately, after more than 15 days of exchanges, customer service provided me with so-called “proof of delivery” that was legally incomplete and did not actually prove that the parcel had been delivered to me. I have therefore been left without any satisfactory solution. After lengthy discussions, customer service then demanded that I provide documents that are completely unrelated to the delivery dispute and for which they have provided no legal or contractual justification. This represents an unjustified intrusion into my privacy, and they have stated that they may refuse to investigate or process my refund request simply because I will not provide these unrelated documents. Diesel performance upgrades
I live in the US. So my experience has been one of a customer relying on Darkside to guide me to the correct hardware and software for my upgrade. The "kit" shipped was exactly what was described and needed. After the exhaust and related components were changed out the software was next. Using VCDS I provided Darkside with the requested logs. They in turn provided the file for flashing. One codes came up, I provided another set of logs. They provided another file for flashing. Result? No further codes. The engine performs flawlessly. Fast forward a year in time. The vehicle incountered other issues, They were more that happy to walk me through these. For a Ling distance product provider They are top notch. I will use them for all future vehicle tuning and performance projects. Brion

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After experiencing ongoing running issues with my TDI SQ7, I initially trusted another company to carry out software adjustments. Unfortunately, the results were disappointing, and the vehicle ended up performing far worse than before, with poor drivability and a number of ongoing problems. After researching specialists in diesel performance, I came across Darkside Developments and decided to give them the opportunity to put things right. From the outset, their knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail were obvious. They thoroughly assessed the vehicle, removed the previous software, and developed a solution tailored to the car's needs. What impressed me most was that Darkside Developments is far more than just a tuning company. Their facilities are exceptional, and their expertise spans everything from performance tuning and diagnostics to mechanical work and fabrication. It's clear that they have invested heavily in both their equipment and their team. The transformation of my SQ7 has been incredible. The car now runs smoothly, performs exactly as it should, and feels more refined and responsive throughout the rev range. I've also noticed a welcome improvement in fuel economy. Most importantly, I now have complete confidence in the vehicle again. If you're looking for a company that genuinely understands diesel performance vehicles and takes pride in doing things properly, I couldn't recommend Darkside Developments highly enough. Outstanding service, exceptional workmanship, and fantastic results.
