Ten ich system listkov je v roku 2026 hanba! Kupim si 24h listok. Mam od neho doklad o kupe. A aj tak si ho musite rucne orazit pri vstupe kde niesu turnikety. Cize ani vas to nenapadne taka blbost. Kupim listok idem ... TOTO JE CISTA PASCA NA TURISTOV! Nikdy viac! JE TO PODVOD A OKRADANIE TURISTOV! Prahu uz nechcem ani vidiet! Je to čistá zlodejina!

Our experience with Prague's public transport inspectors was absolutely disgraceful and left us with a terrible impression of the city. Four members of my family were travelling together. Before boarding, we had correctly purchased four tickets in a single transaction using the same payment card: two standard tickets and two senior (+65) tickets. It was an extremely simple situation to verify if the inspector had been willing to listen. He wasn't. From the very beginning, the inspector decided to accuse me of travelling with a senior ticket that supposedly did not belong to me, completely ignoring the fact that the four tickets belonged to the four family members travelling together. I explained the situation clearly in English, so this was not a language issue. The problem was that the inspector had no interest whatsoever in understanding the facts. He had already decided that I was his target. The most disturbing part was that he kept my identity document and refused to return it until I paid the CZK 1,200 surcharge. This did not feel like a normal ticket inspection. It felt like intimidation. His attitude was aggressive, authoritarian and abusive, more focused on forcing an immediate payment than on establishing what had actually happened. What made the situation even more concerning was that our family, who were clearly foreign visitors, were the only passengers inspected. No one else on the tram was checked. I cannot know what the inspector's motivation was, but I certainly left with the feeling that we had been singled out because we were tourists and therefore easier to pressure than local passengers. We had purchased valid tickets. We had proof of payment. We were travelling together. Despite all of this, the inspector chose to treat us as if we were trying to cheat the system, refusing to listen, refusing to assess the situation fairly and giving us no genuine opportunity to explain. After returning home, I submitted a formal complaint to DPP, providing the tickets, proof of payment and a detailed account of the incident. DPP rejected my complaint and closed the case without, in my opinion, properly addressing the evidence I submitted or explaining how the inspector's conduct had been investigated. The impression I was left with is that the company automatically sides with its inspectors, regardless of the circumstances. My advice to anyone visiting Prague is simple: seriously consider using Bolt or other transport alternatives. The worst part of this experience was not only the inspector's behaviour, but the fact that a documented complaint supported by evidence was dismissed without any meaningful or impartial review. Prague is a beautiful city and deserves far better than this. No visitor should leave feeling intimidated, pressured into paying immediately and then ignored when seeking a fair review of what happened.

Very frustrating experience as first-time visitors to Prague. We bought and validated our tickets correctly and, while leaving the station, approached the inspectors ourselves because we believed everything was fine. Instead of checking immediately, several inspectors spent time discussing the situation between themselves, and only after that told us the tickets had expired by a few minutes. If this is their daily job, why the delay? It honestly felt like the time passing worked against us. We were fined 1200 CZK per person and told that if police were called the fine could become 2000 CZK. We still waited around 20 minutes for police, but nothing changed. The whole situation felt unfair, stressful and not very professionally handled. After reading other reviews, it seems many tourists experience the same issue here.

I travelled to Prague last week for 3 days with my husband and 2 young kids and purchased 72 hour travel ticket to cover my stay. However as soon as we had entered train after purchasing our ticket train inspectors have followed us on the train and fined us for not activating our tickets. The inspectors could have warned us before we got on the train to validate our tickets However instead they waited for us to get on the train and fined us immediately. This is disgusting, as I tourist I will never travel prague again I feel that is a scum that government allows to happen to tourists intentionally to make money. I lived and travelled in the Europe all my life and never experienced such stupid rule. If I'm only in a country for 3 days and paid for 3 day travel ticket how can I be fined for such minor mistake. Clearly I'm not benefitting from the mistake either. Also what's the point in purchasing the ticket? You might as well just get on the train without a train ticket and pay the fine if you get caught, that way you will at least save money on the train ticket???
