I recently rented an RV from El Monte…
I recently rented an RV from El Monte RV Salt Lake City and drove to Yellowstone National Park, so I wanted to share my experience for anyone considering a similar trip. The initial quote was somewhat misleading because it only reflected the base RV rental price. At pickup, there were many additional costs for liability insurance, protection packages, return convenience options, kitchen kits, linen kits, and other add-ons. Once everything was included, the total cost increased significantly from the original quote. I purchased liability insurance, the VIP Plus package, and the Gold package because I wanted a worry-free rental experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case. During the trip, we had a flat tire. I was told that, based on the damage pattern, it was not considered a manufacturing defect and was instead attributed to my driving, so I was responsible for the tire replacement cost. After paying for multiple higher-level protection packages, I was very disappointed to learn that an issue like this was still not covered. We also experienced problems with the slide-out. Small items can easily fall into the corner near the slide-out rail, jam the mechanism, and prevent the slide from moving in or out properly. When this happened, it took a significant amount of time and effort to get it working again. Dealing with this in the middle of a road trip added a lot of unnecessary stress. Overall, the RV experience involved far more unexpected costs, mechanical issues, and hassle than I anticipated. While traveling by RV may appeal to some people, I personally would not recommend it if your goal is a convenient and stress-free vacation. Based on my experience, I would much rather rent a regular car and stay in hotels.

We had a wonderful experience with El Monte. RV was picked and dropped in Salt Lake City where we received excellent service. RV was recent and fully equipped for a 2 weeks road trip.

Outstanding service, support and experience. The sales manager gave us complete instructions on RV, helped with questions we had and was very helpful. We had an amazing trip with our grandchildren.
