We booked two rooms for four people in Budva, Montenegro. All four of us checked in, presented our passports and were given exactly two rooms. The hotel then charged my card twice for two alleged additional rooms as “no-shows”. We never booked, received or were even told about these rooms. Despite clear evidence and repeated emails, management has blamed its internal reservation error on us and still has not refunded the charges. I have now had to escalate this through my bank, travel agency and legal adviser. On top of this, the bathroom sink was blocked and the food was poor. This has been one of the worst hotel customer-service experiences I have ever had. Book elsewhere. You may seriously regret trusting this hotel.

Terrible customer service with inflexible policies. I will never book a stay at a Eurostars hotel again.

I don't usually write reviews, but I wanted to write this one for anyone planning to visit this hotel. Upon arrival, I realized things weren't going to be what I expected. I’d describe the building as a guesthouse or boarding house—it certainly doesn't qualify as a hotel. My suspicions were confirmed when I reached the reception area: the lobby was empty, dark, and furnished with old, uncomfortable chairs—a gloomy space. People usually spend a lot of time in a hotel lobby, but not in this place. The lobby bar, which ought to be open all day, didn't open until 5:30 PM. We checked in and didn't like the room; the furniture was old, and as a couple, we were given two single beds pushed together. (Some might say that’s no big deal—and it wouldn't be, provided the beds stayed put; here, however, they kept sliding apart as if they were on ice, and we even fell into the gap a few times.) We asked to change rooms—we didn't even need the kitchenette, since we were on an all-inclusive plan—but were told all the rooms were the same. Then there was the towel situation: a €10 deposit (cash? No towel cards? Like I said, it’s a boarding house). You had to pay to exchange a towel for a clean one (I think it was €3). Also, as smokers, the first thing we looked for by the pool were signs indicating smoking or non-smoking areas. Believe it or not, there were none—no signs of any kind. Four or five days later, they finally took notice, approached us by the pool, and told us smoking wasn't allowed there—only by the first pool (which was a bit of a walk away). Yet, there were no "no smoking" signs, and there were ashtrays on the tables next to the sun loungers. This was conveyed by a receptionist named Iliana (I think that was her name). The way she handled it was odd, too: she came over while we were on the phone, and we told her we’d come see her in ten minutes. She said, "No, we'll talk now; I have work to do." ...I explained why I couldn't smoke right there in the corner. She said, "No, only over there." ...When asked why she hadn't mentioned this on the first day, she replied, "I'm not obliged to tell you that." ...I thanked her for the pleasant time and good mood; she said, "You're welcome." We didn't go near the pool again. We did end up speaking to the manager, though. It turns out that smoking *was* allowed where we had been lying—right by that same corner I had mentioned to her. That woman—I don't know what to call her... she doesn't know the rules; she is incredibly arrogant, rude, and has zero customer service skills. Moving on. It’s hard for me to list the places I *haven't* been, as I love to travel. And it has *always* been the case that when you check out of a hotel—whether at noon or one o'clock—you still have the right to use the facilities, the bar, and have a meal. But not here. To put it briefly: they actually took my plate away just as I was about to eat. I said, "You're just going to throw it out anyway..." but it was a matter of principle for them. Not only was the food exactly the same all week, but they wouldn't even let me eat. The only upside was the clear ocean water, though it was chilly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
