Can Be Helpful, Can Be Misleading
Find a Grave can be a useful tool for tracing your ancestry. Like any site, it's chocked full of errors and can be misleading. My biggest gripe about Find a Grave are managers of memorials, who are more concerned with the number of memorials they manage versus maintaining them. When an individual is permitted to manager more than 10,000 memorials, it becomes a full-time job handling edit suggestions efficiently. It's very sad when quantity is more appealing than quality.

Would not let me write a few kind words…
Would not let me write a few kind words for Theodor W. Mayer. They kept interrupting, with other options, until I just gave up. This is the second time i tried in the past several years. Too bad so many people have nothing written about them. Nothing. No wonder, huh?Tedious interruptions, and steps. WHY????? Why try to manipulate what people write? It hurts a persons concentration. I am VERY OLD!!!

Dealing with this site is beyond…
Dealing with this site is beyond frustrating!! Trying to resolve an issue is a complete joke.If you try to contact customer service all you get is a standard form email with a link that is no help whatsoever. It has also become very competitive and there seems to be some definite favoritism on famous memorials.

My family memorials have been stolen by…
My family memorials have been stolen by a stranger. I am about to remove findagrave as a soutce for my Ancestry tree. Findagrave has become a desecrator of graves. The people stealing the family memorials of others are beneath contempt.If Paul Noyes of the USA would return my grandfather’s memorial to me it would be appreciated. But findagrave appears to have neither morals nor compassion nor good conscience.

Great Resource...
This site is a great resource for family history. I am a volunteer and go out of my way to record memorials and have uploaded thousands. These are found in public records, churchyards and cemeteries, so nothing is being violated. I receive numerous requests from people around the world to visit and record their relatives memorials local to me. If they want to manage them, then I am more than happy to transfer ownership. If I end up with just my family memorials and all the others are transferred to their family members, then I have done my job. Many people have helped me with photos, so I help others. I've requested to manage family merionals that others have uploaded and have never had an issue. Customer services are extremely helpful and reply within a couple of days. The few here complaining just do not understand how useful this site is for family research. People trying to get family members removed are just short sited. If i ever receive a request to remove a relative, I'll be more than happy to. At the end of the day, it'll be you and your future descendants loss. This is a great resource to document memorials before they are lost to time. I come across many that are unreadable or rubble which is sad. Their relatives have taken time to choose a memorial and write a meaningful epitath, so to document them for future generations is a must.
