Be careful not to get fooled
Be careful not to get fooled! Before renting from Florida Rental Car, I specifically asked whether the Tesla models available had the Self-Driving functionality. The company representative clearly confirmed that both available models had this feature.Based on this information, I chose to rent a Tesla and paid a significantly higher price than I would have for a regular vehicle or similar SUV. The main reason for choosing the Tesla was the possibility of using the Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology during my trip in Florida.After receiving the vehicle, I discovered that the functionality was not available. When I questioned the company, I was informed that the vehicles in their fleet have Self-Driving blocked and that the feature could not be activated.Initially, the company denied any responsibility, stating that the rental was based on vehicle category only. Later, Florida Rental Car formally acknowledged that incorrect information had been provided before the rental. They explicitly stated that I was “right” and that the company had made an internal mistake.As a proposed solution, they offered to replace the vehicle with a Tesla Cybertruck with active Self-Driving starting only on June 26. This was not feasible, as my rental ends on June 28, which would have allowed me to use the feature for only two days out of an approximately fifteen-day rental.I requested reasonable alternatives, including an early vehicle replacement, financial compensation, a discount on the rental price, or cancellation without penalty. The company refused all options and maintained that only the contractual terms would apply.In writing, I requested details about any possible refund, amounts to be withheld, and the contractual basis for any retentions. Even after several hours, the company did not respond to these questions.Although the company itself has acknowledged the error in the information provided, no effective solution has been offered to compensate for the damage caused to the customer.I recommend that other customers confirm in writing any special features (such as Full Self-Driving) before completing a rental.

I was in urgent need of a car as mine was getting serviced after an accident. Luckily they had a car available for me but I must be honest, their customer service wasn't the best. The consultant was impatient and didn't know much about what I needed. Slightly dissapointed.

Roadside assistance struggle
A car rental company is only as good as its roadside assistance. Enterprise Rental Car rented me a car with 53,000 miles. On day 3 of my rental after driving a total of 13 miles, the car battery died. I was working 6 days straight of 12 hour days at a hospital. I spent several days struggling with Enterprise’s contracted roadside assistance. The struggle involved inability to communicate with foreign telephone operators, the roadside assistance called to help me was two states away….. and this went on for 24 hours before I received help. The replacement car reeked of cigarette smoke, had manual doors and windows, stained seats and was 5 years old. The story goes on but I have said enough.
