Very poor screening on the 30 late bag of top soil. Lots of stones and twigs in it.

Will never purchase Westland compost again
Will never purchase Westland compost again. Recently purchased four bags of Westland Peat Free Compost with added John Innes No.3. Literally full of rubbish (large bits of plastic and other detritus). Poor quality! Dear Westland, further to your reply asking for further details, I gave you the exact product name in my complaint. I’m not going to supply you with QR codes, pictures, etc, etc! Suggest you take a hard long look at all your 1 star reviews. I’ve now switched to a different brand and I’m very happy with the quality. I guess you get what you pay for!

DeadFast poison is Deadbeat
I bought the DeadFast poison, from B$Q, 8 saches for £7. The company boasts that their poison will kill the mouse in one ingestion. I placed the saches in the right places in my apartment and found that the mouse has taken the bait twice. 3 weeks went by and I suddenly I realised that the loaf of bread has been tempered with by the mouse. Meaning the mouse is still alive and their DeadFast poison is DEADBEAT. Please folk never buy this at all costs. Waste of money!

Won't buy Westland Peat Free compost again
I am new to gardening and have a small garden allotment with a greenhouse, a lot of large tubs and pots and 3 small raised beds. Last year (my first year) I started very small and bought relatively cheap compost from my local garden centre. I had moderate success with my veg, so decided to go for much more. This year I thought I'd do it properly with your Westland peat free multi-purpose compost. Overall I have bought over 30 bags of your compost, and also bottles of your multi purpose liquid feed and tomato feed. The compost looks mainly like small pieces of wood and other unrotted waste. When I water it the water just drains through. I didn't feel this was how it should be, but as a novice, I didn't really know any better. None of the following seeds (all commercially bought) germinated in my greenhouse beans, peppers, garlic, onions, leek, courgettes, nasturtiums, french marigolds. The only seeds that germinated were cucumber seeds and sunflowers. I then had to buy plants for beans, courgettes, peppers, tomatoes, leeks, onions and various flowers. None of my plants have grown properly this year. Growth is extremely slow and the leaves are yellow and very unhealthy looking. The water just drains through the compost in all of my tubs and hanging baskets. I have spent hours carefully nurturing, feeding and watering my plants and the veg yields are small in size and almost non existent. Because I'm a newbie, I had thought that I was the problem. I now discover a wealth of complaints from hundreds of users across many UK gardening groups about the terrible quality of your compost. I feel really upset and let down by what I thought was the major leading supplier of compost in this home gardening sector. It has really put me off gardening. I will definitely not buy this compost again. And I think you should apologise to all the gardeners that you have ripped off with this useless product.
