London Gatwick waiting chairs are terrible not Economically designed, wooden no padding sloping rounded back very poor for back support. Everyone seems to be leaning forward. If you have a bad back and neck problems please be aware.

Extremely disappointing experience for international travellers Immigration itself was surprisingly quick and efficient, which I appreciated. However, everything after that was extremely disappointing. There were no proper toilet facilities available up until immigration, which is a serious inconvenience, particularly for passengers who have been travelling for hours or have medical needs. Then came the issue with the luggage trolleys. Travellers were required to have a £1 coin to use a trolley. How is an international traveller expected to have British coins readily available immediately after arriving? This is an unnecessary inconvenience that could easily be avoided by providing a card/contactless payment option. But the worst part was the condition of the trolleys themselves. They were absolutely horrible to manoeuvre — instead of going straight, the trolley wheels were pulling in different directions, making them extremely difficult to control. When I noticed other customers, it was exactly the same and some people took their lugguage out and started rolling themselves. I had recently undergone surgery and was flying back while already tired and physically uncomfortable. Having to struggle with a badly functioning trolley after a long international journey made the experience even more exhausting. For an international airport, these basic facilities should be accessible, convenient and passenger-friendly. Quick immigration is great, but the overall passenger experience does not end there. Please improve the toilet facilities, provide a modern payment option for trolleys, and most importantly, replace or properly maintain these awful trolleys. International travellers deserve much better.

Overall, the airport is very dusty and dirty. I have not seen any charging stations for phones and other items. There was dust everywhere, which I don't understand because if the airport is privately owned, they should have enough economic grounds to employ people to clean everywhere on a daily basis. Also, getting a cab to drop you off is too expensive. Why does the charge keep going up? For people who are disabled, it is painful to travel in Gatwick due to the amount of walking you have to do. Even if you are in a wheelchair, you can get lost very easily. Accessing the local buses is difficult and not signposted. Finally, the food choices is not the best either. The airport's quality is very poor. I hope the airport will improve to be at the level of those found in Switzerland.

PREDATORY TRAP: Forced Entry & Charged For Passing Through! Beware of the shocking road layout at London Gatwick North Terminal. The perimeter roundabout has been modified with aggressive plastic barriers that completely block normal exit routes. Instead of acting as a functional roundabout, it physically forces drivers left and funnels them directly into the chargeable drop-off forecourt against their will. There is literally nowhere else to go.To escape the £10 fee, they expect you to navigate chaotic traffic at 20 mph, spot a tiny red sign, enter the Short Stay Car Park, take a ticket, and immediately exit. I completely missed this sign on the day because it is virtually impossible to see while trying to drive safely in a high-pressure environment. I only discovered its existence by investigating the area on Google Street View afterward! Expecting motorists to read small text instructing them to enter a car park just to avoid a forced road charge is an absolute joke.Worse still, they use extreme high-pressure tactics to force immediate compliance. If you do not pay the £10 charge by midnight the following day, it automatically escalates into a massive £100 Non-Payment Charge. This is a staggering 1,000% increase designed purely to terrify people into paying immediately out of fear.My vehicle was inside the zone for less than 60 seconds. I was traveling completely alone, my wheels never stopped turning, and no passenger was dropped off. Yet, I was forced to pay £10 under severe financial duress just to escape a public road layout and avoid a predatory £100 fine. This is not a service charge; it is extortion. If you get caught in this trap, do not let them get away with it—demand a refund immediately. Gatwick Airport and NCP should be thoroughly ashamed of this corporate greed.

If I could give ZERO Stars I would! I don't usually fly into Gatwick, and after this experience I will definitely be maintaining that position. Returning from Asia we arrived at Gatwick South Terminal to find only one luggage carousel operating for three flights worth of passengers and luggage. Bags were being thrown onto the carousel while frustrated passengers were effectively fighting their way through the crowds to get to their luggage. An absolute shambles. While waiting for our bags, I went to the ladies' toilets — and honestly, in all my years of travelling around the world, I have never seen such disgusting toilets at an international airport. I won't go into the details, but they were filthy, unpleasant and, to make matters worse, literally falling apart. This is an international airport and one of the first impressions many visitors will have when arriving in the UK. What an absolute disgrace and embarrassment to display to travellers from around the world. Gatwick really needs to take a long, hard look at the state of this terminal. The whole arrival experience was chaotic, dirty and completely unacceptable. Gatwick South Terminal — do better.
