Severe buzzing on Digital Switch-Over + Major Customer Service Limits
After being transitioned to a digital line where the phone connects to a broadband router adapter, my CL1100 developed a permanent, loud electronic hum and buzzing tone that completely overpowers the dial tone. I have thoroughly tested every possible configuration to try and fix this electrical imbalance, including: Changing the hidden switches (testing P/T and ETR/R positions) to ensure it is set to modern Tone dialling (T/R); Checking and adjusting the Time Break Recall Switch; Deactivating the extra volume and tone amplification functions entirely; Testing the phone both with and without fresh AAA batteries; Plugging the phone through a traditional broadband microfilter to isolate the line wiring; Bypassing the wireless adapter completely and plugging directly into the green port on the back of the main internet router; Physically moving the phone away from other equipment to rule out nearby wireless or environmental interference. But despite all of these steps, the loud hum remains entirely unchanged. While I am not a qualified engineer and this is only my opinion based on my testing, it strongly suggests a specific, fundamental incompatibility between this particular Geemarc CL1100 model and modern digital router outputs. Notably, an older 1990s BT telephone works perfectly fine on this exact same digital adapter setup, meaning the issue is not necessarily down to the age of the phone. If you are experiencing this issue on a digital line, the phone may be completely unusable for you. To make matters worse, attempting to contact Geemarc directly for support is incredibly difficult. Their official UK customer helpline (01707 387602) operates on heavily restricted hours—open for only 3.5 hours a day (10:00–12:00 and 13:00–14:30). Shockingly, I was repeatedly cut off even when calling directly during these official operating hours. Getting a live agent to answer a call is a major challenge.

A DECT Phone System that doesn't work on digital connections
A DECT Phone System that doesn't work on Digital Land Lines - truly phenomenal! Purchased Amplidect 595 to replace Amplidect 295 that failed during its warranty period. After upgrade to fibre the Answer Phone system stopped working. Reported the issue to Geemarc who made some suggestions - non of which worked. Then followed up with a detailed review of the system set up, and follow up call to Geemarc, who now admit that it doesn't work on a Digital connection GREAT!! DON"T BUY
