I booked a car
I booked a car, it got charged to my credit card and then I received an email stating there was a problem and two days after the reservation was cancelled! They had my CC number, it was correct so I don’t know what the problem was.

WARNING: Fraudulent Bait-and-Switch, Fake Ratings, and Non-Existent Support
I strongly advise against booking anything through GotRentalCars. They operate a deceptive bait-and-switch model, funnel customers to predatory suppliers, and deliberately obstruct customer support. I booked a modern economy vehicle for Athens Airport. GotRentalCars explicitly advertised that the supplier would be "United" with a trusted 7.5/10 customer rating. This was a complete fabrication. I followed GotRentalCars' exact collection instructions, which directed me to a remote, off-site depot. Upon arrival, it became clear this was not a highly-rated "United" branch, but a notoriously poorly-rated local operator called "Apollo", who use the "United" name on the broker's paperwork to hide their abysmal public reviews from online bookers. Because GotRentalCars facilitated this shell game, I was subjected to severe extortion tactics on the ground. The desk agent initially claimed my booking did not exist in their system, a blatant attempt to extort a duplicate payment from a stranded family. I caught them out by spotting my exact booking reference format printed on the paperwork sitting right on their own desk. Only after I directly confronted the agent with their own documents did they magically 'find' my prepaid reservation. After failing to extract a duplicate payment, they forced me to take an unroadworthy, dangerously unsafe 19-year-old vehicle (a 2007 registration). The car had over 290,000 kilometres on the odometer, active mechanical warning lights, and extensive poorly repaired damage. Furthermore, supplying a vehicle of this extreme age instantly voided my independent European car hire excess insurance, leaving me fully exposed. Upon returning the vehicle, the supplier executed a calculated, two-stage deposit fraud scam: The Initial False Claim: The agent immediately walked up to an area of pre-existing, poorly resprayed bodywork and falsely claimed this was fresh damage caused by me, demanding to seize the security deposit. I instantly produced time-stamped photographs from the collection date showing the exact same flaws. The Secondary Extortion Attempt: Caught red-handed on the first lie, the agent did not apologise; instead, they immediately moved on to phase two. They got down on their knees to scour the underside of the front bumper, hunting for obscure underside scrapes in the hope that I had not photographed underneath the chassis. Fortunately, I had thoroughly documented every hidden angle at collection. Once I presented proof of that as well, their extortion collapsed entirely, and they were forced to sign the return sheet as "No Damage". When you actually need help from GotRentalCars, you will find their systems are designed to ignore you. Their online customer support portal is broken and returns an expired error message. They purposefully do not publish a direct customer service email address, leaving you entirely stranded when their suppliers attempt to extort you. I have already initiated a Section 75 credit card chargeback against GotRentalCars for breach of contract and misrepresentation. I have also reported this dual-branded operation to the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) and will be escalating the broker's false advertising practices to the UK International Consumer Centre (UKICC) and the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). If you have been scammed by this broker, do not let them keep your money. Contact your bank immediately and raise a chargeback for misrepresentation. If you have not booked yet, avoid them entirely.
