DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC, OR ANY OTHER LIKE IT. UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE HAD THE MOST LIFE ALTERING EXPERIENCE. NOT PROFESSIONAL MEDICIAL STAFF. ONLY ABOUT MONEY NOT YOUR HEALTH. HERE IS MY STORY. I had Been having problems and been told by 3 dentists in the uk i needed root canal treatment. The tooth was part if a three tooth bridge that I had had for many years. I wasn't happy with what they had told me here in the UK as I had absess before and it wasn't the same . So thinking that I would be better to have implants I did lots of research and ended up at this clinic in Budapest. They have very sophisticated equipment and quickly told me a root canal not possible as the root was decayed and had died. So although I queried this I eventually took there advice had the tooth out and they immediately put in an implant. 3 day antibiotics given. I fear that they diddnt take my medical history into account and my age. To cut a long story short. I started to feel unwell on the plane home. Friday morning early I asked my sons to take me to A and E St George's London. I got so lucky with the way they responed so quickly my sepsis count was through the roof. They operated cut open my knee and performed a DAIR. I have a prosetic knee and I have since learnt that you would never chance a decade tooth removal and implant when someone has prosectic joint.implants of which I have 4. A month in hospital intravenous antibiotics. Continued by rehabilitation and 5 more months of antibiotics. Then it may not be finished. A possibility of having to have my knee removed and cement spacers antibiotic loaded for however long it takes. But I hope and pray that won't happen. Certainly changed my life its been dreadful all because of unprofessional people that shouldn't be in practice. So I ask if you have any health issues look very carefully before you choose these type of places.

Prior to treatment, a full medical history is reviewed with each patient, and your treatment plan, including the associated risks, was discussed and signed by you before the procedure. Antibiotic prophylaxis was administered as part of the standard protocol for patients undergoing dental procedures, particularly those with orthopedic implants. We reached out after you informed us of your hospitalisation and asked to be kept updated on the results of the bacterial culture, so that any possible connection to the procedure could be properly assessed. We have not yet received this information, which makes it difficult to determine the exact origin of the infection. I highly recommend Helvetic Dental…

I highly recommend Helvetic Dental Clinic in Budapest. I first visited in 2017 for a full upper and lower arch bridge, completed beautifully within a week. My recent visit in June 2026 was for an unexpected dental emergency, and the clinic arranged a next day appointment, airport transfer, and hotel accommodation. Dr. Balázs Bendes provided excellent diagnosis, painless surgical treatment, and a clear long term implant plan at very competitive prices. The clinic is modern, well equipped, and the staff are exceptionally kind and supportive. I was even able to fly back to the UK the same day. Outstanding service every time. The team speak English, German, French, Spanish and other languages.

Good clinical work, but pricing transparency fell short of expectations

I had a Neodent Helix GM implant placed at Helvetic Clinics Budapest in early 2026. The implant procedure itself was professionally executed, the clinic is well-presented, and the surgical team were competent. My concern is with the pricing process. The initial written estimate I received by email quoted Visit 2 (crown placement) at €340 total, with a single PFM crown option at €290. The formal quotation issued at the clinic on the day of treatment moved Visit 2 to €490–€660, introducing a more expensive screw-retained crown at €390 and recommending a zirconia upgrade at €560 —neither of which had been disclosed or explained in the original written estimate. When I queried this, the clinic explained that screw-retained crowns are clinically preferable (which is a fair point) and that estimates given by phone and email are not the same as quotations after physical consultation. I understand the clinical reasoning, but I think prospective patients deserve to know that the headline price you receive by email may not reflect the final treatment plan, and that "fixed pricing" applies only after the in-clinic quotation, not before. I have decided to complete the crown placement with a UK dentist, who provided an all-inclusive fee with no variation from initial enquiry to confirmation. If you are considering Helvetic, my advice would be: ask explicitly about screw-retained vs cement-retained crowns, crown materials, and any additional x-rays or extras before travelling. The clinical care appears solid, but go in with your eyes open on pricing.
