Really wanted to support this business…

Really wanted to support this business but so disappointed with customer service. I bought the home testing kit and discovered that I physically cannot collect the sample I need to without passing out (it is a surprisingly very large volume required, and less squeamish friends I spoke to struggled too). I contacted them to say I was really sorry, but I wouldn't be able to send the sample, I'm happy to pay for postage and the kit but please can I have a refund for the sample analysis. Every response I got from them was a generic copy and paste reply that there are no refunds after 30 days. This is a really unreasonable timeline when you have to take the sample on one specific day of your cycle - I was already near the end of the 30 days refund policy when I had to take the sample, and knew I would not be in the UK again on the specific cycle day I needed to take the sample the next month. They offered to send a nurse to help me take the sample (which I would pay extra for), but since I was not in the UK, this was not helpful. I feel like they scammed me out of £250 for a plastic vial, because they didn't have to process my sample, which I know is where their cost lies. Also, they would not engage in conversation at all, just generic responses, which I don't think fits with their "You deserve better healthcare. Period." messaging.

The test is easy to complete at home. The results came back quickly with a really detailed report and visuals to show how your results line up with other people your age. The follow up call with Victoria was really helpful. And not only reassuring but gave us an idea of what our potential next steps could be.

Disappointing experience – Not using Again

I have used Hertility previously and had a much better experience, which is why I chose to use them again. Unfortunately, this time I was very disappointed, particularly considering I paid around £250. The new blood collection kit felt like a downgrade. Previously there was a separate sponge holder that securely held the collection tube while taking the sample. The new cardboard holder is built into the corner of the box, making it awkward to squeeze blood from your finger into the small tube while keeping everything stable. The plastic return packaging also felt less premium and practical than before. I was also disappointed with the consultation experience. I was delayed by a work meeting and joined a few minutes late. Hertility advised that their consultant waited eight minutes before leaving the call. Despite the consultation being 30 minutes long, I was told I would need to repurchase it. I understand they have a late-arrival policy, but for a returning customer who had paid around £250, I found the approach extremely inflexible. I subsequently contacted customer service and explained my concerns. Although they apologised and acknowledged my feedback, they ultimately offered no refund, replacement consultation, credit or goodwill gesture and simply referred me back to their policy. For around £250, I expected considerably better service and customer care. The blood testing covers a relatively limited selection of hormones, and some of these tests may also be available through the NHS when clinically indicated, so for me the convenience, support and overall experience are an important part of the value of a private service. Sadly, I don't feel the service represents good value anymore. It's particularly disappointing because my experience with Hertility a few years ago was much better. I won't be using them again.

Hi, We completely understand your frustration regarding the changes to our blood collection kit. We are continually trying to balance sustainability with practicality. We would have been more than happy to support you on a blood draw call so we could show you how to successfully take your sample using the cardboard holder. We are also very sorry for the disappointment and stress caused by the missed consultation. We completely understand that work meetings can unexpectedly run over. Because our consultations are comprehensive, our nurses have a strict 8-minute waiting window to ensure there is still enough time left in the 30-minute slot to safely deliver the full clinical assessment without running late for the next patient. Our advisors do call the phone number on file after 4 minutes and after 8 minutes they will send an email. If there is still time left within the dedicated time, the advisor would have happily jumped on the call with you to support you. We can see from our system that both of these actions were carried out for you. Unfortunately, we have recently experienced a large number of unattended Clinical Results Review Calls, as well as last-minute rescheduling. To manage this and ensure our specialists are able to assist as many patients as possible without delays, we have had to implement a strict policy regarding late arrivals. The staff are all really friendly and…

The staff are all really friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgable. It was great to have an opportunity to talk through the results and get advice on next steps with someone who was empathetic, friendly, experienced and knowledgable. I felt like I was treated like a person rather than just a number. The result summary is very thorough as is the care plan with signposting. I found it challenging to do the at home blood test and the first failed which was definitely user error. They however sent a further one for free and talking through how to do it with someone on the phone was really helpful and the next time it was much easier to do and did not fail.

I came to Hertility after suffering…

I came to Hertility after suffering from short bleeding days, weight gain and 1 year TTC with no luck. Tried to no luck to get GP to investigate, which the last GP told me (you are just getting older, I am 30). After getting my results and the clinical call done on 27th April. With a diagnosis of PCOS, I immediately ordered the recommended supplements, which I started taking on 1st May. By the end of May I had my last period, and found out I was pregnant in early June. I am now 10/11 weeks pregnant and had an early reassurance scan and all is looking positive. Some say the timing could be a coincidence but the fact is I would never of started taking the supplements without the diagnosis from Hertility that I couldnt get with a GP. So for me it was 100% worth it and would recommend to anyone who’s been trying to get answers, go get them for yourself. Thank you Hertility!
