HighFlow Sold Me Expired Coolant, Ghosted After Knowledgment

In June 2026, I bought an XSPC premixed coolant from them. One month later, temperatures started rising, and I noticed the coolant starting to visibly coagulate on both the GPU and CPU blocks. I investigated the problem with XSPC, and they pointed out that the cause was likely because the product had been expired for more than a year (it was manufactured in 2022 and has a shelf life of 3 years). I contacted HighFlow for a refund and compensation for damages, as they are responsible for selling me an expired product that put my rig out of order and left my €900 EKWB loop with the GPU and CPU block fins (and some other places) with of coagulated coolant. However, I only received a refund for the order itself, and they ghosted me after I asked about compensation for the damages. I didn't even contacted expecting much, but at least them to acknowledge the mistake and cover the maintenance costs that I gonna have to do AGAIN (new tubes, thermal paste, etc). EDIT: As shown, store justify the outcome because they "can't" trace back things, just like they can't track product's expiry date. Because I haven't bought a rig with them and they haven't built it, it's not their responsibility, they don't even consider the conclusion made by the manufacturer of the product I bought.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with your cooling loop, and we understand how frustrating this situation must have been. We would, however, like to provide some additional context from our side. Our coolants are regularly restocked and are not products that normally remain in our inventory for extended periods. Your order with us consisted of a single bottle of coolant, and you have not previously purchased any of the other components in your cooling loop from our store. We therefore have no information about the components, materials, previous coolant, cleaning procedure, or other factors within the system that could potentially have contributed to the issue. We also have no way to independently verify that the specific bottle referred to in the complaint, including its stated production date, is the same bottle that was supplied with this order. This is especially difficult to establish several months after an order has been delivered and the coolant has been used. With a custom water-cooling loop, there are many variables that can potentially contribute to contamination, deposits or coolant instability. Without inspecting the complete system and knowing its history, it is unfortunately impossible for us to determine with certainty that the coolant supplied by us was the cause of the reported deposits and subsequent maintenance requirements. Nevertheless, we took the complaint seriously and, as a gesture of goodwill, refunded the full purchase price of the coolant including the original shipping costs. We would also like to clarify the suggestion that we “ghosted” you. Your email regarding additional compensation arrived while we were closed for our holiday. When we returned, we had a significant backlog of orders and customer enquiries to process. We responded as quickly as we reasonably could while working through that backlog. We apologize if the waiting time gave the impression that your message was being ignored; that was certainly not our intention. We understand that you would have preferred additional compensation for servicing your cooling loop and replacing items such as tubing and thermal paste. However, without being able to establish that the coolant supplied by us caused these additional costs, we cannot reasonably reimburse consequential expenses for components and materials that were not purchased from our store. We’re sorry that we could not provide the resolution you were hoping for, but we hope this additional context provides a fair and complete picture of how the situation was handled from our side.
