Keep your eyes peeled on what you are actually buying
I bought this through a "special offer" via SurfShark as I liked the idea that our personal details were out there for sale. However, when I signed up Incogni advertise their plans as a monthly figure, but it is actually an upfront annual payment - I did not spot this until it was too late. Although it advertises 420+ data broker sites covered, there are actually only 44 broker sites covered. Incogni's explanation is a bit vague - ChatBot & then a live agent "The reason why the broker amount to you is a bit lower is that we use an algorithm depending on your location to determine which brokers have the highest chance of having your data. For instance, if you're based in the USA, removal requests won't solely target data brokers applicable to EU residents" and "The requests are sent in waves, the first couple of weeks as requests are sent automatically, I am not able to specify the timing." This was not what I expected to see! Nowhere does it explain this on joining or on subsequent site visits. When I pointed this out, the agent simply said "No worries, at all, I completely understand!". So, it seems to me that ironically, the Incogni tool for removing your data from dodgy broker sites is showing itself to me as using some dodgy techniques itself.

I like that they are doing what I can't. I just don't know how to do the parts that I need to do. The videos that explain are hard to follow. I wish I had a better understanding of the dynamics of the program, but it is helpful in many ways.
