Free plan advertises features you can't actually get
I signed up for Kit's 14-day free trial and built a six-part email course during it. When the trial ended, I found out the "free" plan I could actually get was not the free Newsletter plan advertised on their pricing page. That page lists a visual automation and an email sequence as free features. The only free plan offered to my account after the trial was broadcasts only, with none of that, and it locked the work I had built. To get the features advertised as free, I had to pay $39/month. There's also a catch that isn't disclosed at signup: the free Newsletter plan forces a Kit-managed recommendation shown to your subscribers that you cannot see, choose, or control, plus a public business profile. As a licensed financial professional who has to run public-facing content through compliance, that makes their free plan unusable for me, and nothing on the pricing page warns you about it. To their credit, a support rep did acknowledge the trial-versus-free-plan distinction was unclear and refunded a charge. But the underlying setup pushed me to pay to access my own work right before a scheduled launch. Know exactly which "free" you're signing up for, because starting the trial appears to forfeit the free plan you were shown.

Kit provides much more functionality…
Kit provides much more functionality than other solutions. Some of it is not intuitive to use. And I would like to be able to host two different audiences in a clean fashion. I can do this somewhat, but not in creator profile.

Kit refused to help with my $200 refund
Very disappointing experience as a buyer. I purchased a $200 service from a seller through the Kit platform, but I never received the service. I contacted the seller and asked for a refund, but they told me they couldn’t help me and that I should contact Kit support. The seller has now closed their account, and the product link I purchased from is no longer working. I contacted Kit support and explained the situation clearly. Instead of helping me with the refund, I was told to open a dispute with my bank. The problem is that my bank charges me a $30 fee for opening a dispute, and I would also have to spend extra time going through the process. I simply want my $200 refunded. I don’t think it’s fair for the buyer to lose money and deal with all this when the seller’s account is already closed and the product is no longer available. I hope Kit can take another look at this and find a solution.
