I am currently travelling in Vietnam and chose Moreta Pay because I expected to be able to rely on it for payments while abroad. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. On 15 August, I transferred €500 to my Moreta account by SEPA. More than 10 hours later, the money had left my bank account but was still shown as pending by Moreta. Because I urgently needed the funds to pay for a Ha Long Bay cruise, I made another €250 SEPA deposit hoping that one of the transfers would be processed faster. That transfer also remained pending. Because Moreta did not make my transferred money available when I needed it, I was forced to make a more expensive credit-card deposit to get myself out of the situation. This meant paying additional costs simply because the cheaper SEPA funding method was not processed in a reasonable time. Support consisted mainly of an automated bot telling me that my case had been “escalated” and that a human would respond. Despite the urgency, it took several days before I finally received an actual response. Then, on 19 August, I experienced another problem: a payment of 334,000 VND failed despite having approximately 16 million VND available in my account. Moreta later stated that there had been a payment-network problem with their partner in Vietnam. Now, on 24 August, exactly the same SEPA problem has happened again: another transfer has left my bank account but remains pending for hours. And once again, because the money I transferred by SEPA was not available, I had to resort to another more expensive credit-card deposit so that I could continue using the service while travelling. Once again, “support” consists of an automated message saying that the case has been escalated and that a human will take over. I received almost exactly the same message during the previous incident, after which it took several days to get a human response. For a financial service, this is simply not acceptable. My experience so far: - Multiple SEPA deposits remaining pending for many hours or days. - Money already debited from my bank while being unavailable in Moreta. - Having to make more expensive credit-card deposits on multiple occasions because my SEPA money was unavailable. - A payment failing despite more than sufficient balance. - Automated support repeatedly asking for information Moreta already has. - “Escalations” that do not result in timely human support. - No clear explanation why SEPA deposits are sometimes processed quickly and at other times remain stuck for a very long time. What concerns me particularly is the financial consequence of this. SEPA is the cheaper way to fund the account, but when those deposits remain pending while I am abroad and need access to my money, the only practical way out is to deposit again by credit card at a higher cost. I am not claiming that Moreta deliberately delays SEPA transfers to encourage credit-card deposits, because I cannot prove that. However, after repeatedly being put in exactly that situation, I believe it is entirely reasonable to ask Moreta to explain why its SEPA processing is so unreliable and why customers end up having to use the more expensive funding method as a workaround. When a company handles customers’ money, reliability and accessible human support are not optional. Especially when travelling abroad, you need to know that money transferred to your account will actually be available when you need it. Based on my experience during this trip, I cannot recommend relying on Moreta Pay as your primary payment method while travelling. In my case, the service has not only been unreliable but has also directly resulted in additional costs. I will update this review if Moreta resolves the current problem properly, provides a satisfactory explanation for the repeated delays and offers appropriate compensation for the additional costs and inconvenience caused. Update: My latest €250 SEPA deposit provides another concerning example. I initiated it on Sunday 23 August at 22:16 Vietnam time. Moreta only completed the conversion almost 22 hours later, on Monday at 20:16 Vietnam time — approximately 08:16 in Austin, Texas, where Moreta lists its headquarters. The timing makes me seriously question whether these SEPA deposits require manual processing or approval during US business hours. I cannot prove that this is the case, but the pattern is difficult to ignore. Moreta’s own support documentation states that EUR SEPA deposits should “settle in minutes”. In my experience, they have repeatedly taken many hours instead. While waiting, I once again had no practical choice but to fund the account by the more expensive credit-card option.

Funktioniert einwandfrei in Vietnam.

My $161.05 has been locked for days due to a security review. Moreta says the review usually takes 1 business day, but despite sending multiple emails, I still haven’t received any proper response. They asked me to provide card statement on there app which i did and kaboom silence. I understand security checks, but completely ignoring customers isn’t acceptable. I just want a clear explanation and access to my money.

Seems great so far. Traveling in Vietnam. Downloaded, registered and passed ID verification within a couple of minutes. Added cash via Apple Pay and was able to pay for a coffee immediately. What a relief after counting all those banknotes with the £1 = 35,000 exchange rate. Since then I’ve been travelling in China. It’s worked flawlessly here too.

Supported by Moreta . All sounds great until you attempt to get an online refund in Vietnam (One of the countries Moreta claims to support.) Online shopping with Lazada was great...UNTIL in a very rude awakening I am messages by my trusted choice that REFUNDS in VIETNAM DON'T HAPPEN. Refunds were covered by LAZADA ~ LOSS 3,359,800 VND later I learned the hard way how business in America works. Following he reply fom Moreta I'm adding that I received a notice stating that refunds from Vietnam were against thier policy. The vendor refunded - It could not be added to my account with Moreta. Moretta contacted by email and said they were 'looking into it'

Auch nicht für Geld. Unclaimed ist fair. Claimed gibt das Mikrofon — nicht den Radiergummi.
