BMW GS Rental for Our Bosnia and Montenegro Motorcycle Tour I rented a BMW GS from MotoGS Rental in Trogir in June for a one-week tour through Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro, and it turned out to be one of those trips that stays with you. Anyone looking for open, winding roads and spectacular coastal scenery should experience Croatia and Montenegro by motorcycle. Both places are absolute gems: compact, beautiful and unforgettable, with a real richness of history, welcoming people and incredible riding. Bosnia is different in character, but no less rewarding. It adds another layer to the journey and makes the whole route feel even more complete. MotoGS Rental is a small outfit run by Frank, a true enthusiast who clearly lives and breathes BMW motorcycles. From the moment I picked up the bike, it was obvious that he had taken care of every detail. This is not just a rental company. It feels more like an experience built around a love of travel, good roads, reliable bikes and the freedom that comes with having a BMW beneath you and the road ahead. The bike itself was immaculate, near new based on the mileage, and comprehensively fitted out for touring. Everything was clean, well prepared and ready to go, which gave me complete confidence from the start. I would highly recommend MotoGS Rental in Croatia to anyone planning a motorcycle trip through the Balkans, Bosnia or Montenegro. It was a great adventure, a great experience and exactly the kind of trip motorcycling is all about.

1 Original review Me and my son rented motorcycles from MotoGS Croatia 13-20 Feb 2026, and the experience was unfortunately mostly negative from start to finish. Although this company is presented as a worldwide operation, a lot indicated that it is run by a single person. In my opinion this is not enough for upholding overall professionalism. Already at the check-in, this person appeared stressed and unfocused but talking a lot to my son. He repeatedly interrupted us with negative comments while we tried to prepare our gear. There was not a suitable place to change clothes. Instead we had to do all outdoors with nowhere to sit. The air was filled with cigarette smoke from the representatives smoking. The situation felt disorganised, unfriendly, impolite and very uncomfortable. A more serious issue concerned the condition of one of the bikes. Some few minutes after check-out, my son had a strong wobbling in the bike caused by very low pressure the front tyre. This is a basic safety check that should have been completed before handing over the vehicle. I was in shock after this. When my son called this person and raised the issue, the response was dismissive (“the tyre had been filled”). However, since we did not need to refill it again during the entire rental period, this is likely not correct. We reported the incident to the local police in Trogir. When returning my bike it was almost totally clean (no dirt) and undamaged. The same person inspected and approved it without any remarks. Despite this, I was several days later accused of causing damages. I denied being totally unaware. The claimed damage consisted of minor scratches on plastic parts that had to be changed to new parts from BMW factory. This person was uninterested in discussing reasonable repair options, like upgraded reconditioning or simple repair. But money was withdrawn from my credit card without my approval. The bank also gave the money back to me. The dispute seems to have been upgraded to a formal process. If you still choose to rent here, I strongly recommend documenting the motorcycle thoroughly with photos and videos at both pickup and return, and ensuring that all communication is clear and recorded. Ask him specifically about what insurance coverage is provided for minor damages, and how such issues are handled. Also beware that there is No insurance provided Only third-party insurance limited to 2000 Euro (!) Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this rental service. 3. Comments on their answer. Your response contains, among other things, several statements suggesting that I provide false information, has by this review damaged your reputation, acted in a boundary crossing manner, or used reviews as leverage in a legal matter. But it is important to distinguish between a customer experience and a formal process. My review concerns the customer experience and opinions. That experience also includes the fact that you have, without willingness to negotiate, initiated a formal process for alleged damages (see 1). All this I am in the right to describe and publish as being of interest for a customer. My son and I had similar experiences during the rental. All described in 1 remains valid. I want to add this: In all the talk at check-in this person complained about other customers mistreating his bikes. Yet he is here writing that all other customers gives him top ratings. Regarding my son’s review that was downgraded, I can only note that it is his decision alone. I cannot comment on his reasons, more than that we shared almost all during the rental period. At the check out, I also overheard my son being instructed of the same person on what he should write in his Google review (and it resulted in 5 stars). I commented to both of them that this manner was not appropriate. This too is part of the customer experience. I agree with the opinion that this platform is not an arena for legal dispute. But a legal dispute must originate from facts. This person has started this dispute originating from the rental. I have remained loyal to facts. And as it is suggested that the bike was smeared with dirt. But the motorcycle was only used on asphalt, and it rained a lot during the rental. At return it was clean and possible to inspecte properly. And finally: When a claim arises after an approved inspection - taken all in considerationt - it naturally increase my uncertainty about professionalism and procedures and relevant information regarding insurance coverage. All this is relevant to mention in a customer review.

I see that you are operating under a mistaken premise. Yes, it is true that I left a generic positive Google review (with lighthearted words like "beautiful landscapes across Croatia") ONE DAY after the rental ended. This is mainly because people say I am a gentle and polite person and sometimes hold back some issues. However, a week after the rental period ended, we were surprised to receive the charge of payment for damage to one motorcycle, allegedly resulting from an incident that never actually occurred and, to make matters worse, the surprise that the alleged damage might have occurred even after the return inspection. In other words, there is nothing preventing me from changing my review; after all, a review covers not only the rental period itself but also the post-rental experience—especially given the company's subsequent unprofessional behaviour. Therefore, I am fully justified in changing my review of the company. Accusing customers of damage, a FULL WEEK after the motorcycles were returned is unprofessional behavior—and this does not invalidate the review I left earlier, which was based on the experience of "seeing beautiful scenery during the trip." After all, my father and I were traveling together as a group; therefore, any unprofessional behaviour by the company directed at her affects me as well. Finally, it is worth recalling the unpleasant surprise of realizing, just minutes after picking up the motorcycle, that the front tire was extremely low on air (approximately 0.3 bar). I reported the incident to the company owner (I still possess the WhatsApp conversation to prove it). This calls into question the company's safety procedures at the time of handover and, worse, puts the renter in danger. It is up to the readers, then, to judge who might have a motive to lie here: myself—a disinterested party simply wishing to warn the community about the company's unprofessional conduct—or the company itself, a party with a vested interest in maintaining its (unprofessional) rental service.

We rented several BMW GS motorcycles from MotoGS Rental in Trogir in April for a multi-day motorcycle tour through Bosnia and Montenegro, and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. The preparation before the tour was very professional and made everything easy for us. The motorcycles were ready, well maintained, clean and fully equipped for touring. The handover was clear and detailed, and we received everything we needed for the ride, including navigation support and GPX route data. The route itself was absolutely fantastic. Starting from Trogir and riding through Bosnia and Montenegro gave us an incredible mix of mountain roads, beautiful landscapes and real Balkan riding atmosphere. Everything worked smoothly, and the bikes performed perfectly during the entire trip. What we appreciated most was that MotoGS Rental clearly understands what motorcycle riders actually need: reliable bikes, proper equipment, good route preparation and practical support without making things complicated. For anyone planning a BMW GS motorcycle rental in Croatia or a motorcycle tour through the Balkans, Bosnia or Montenegro, I can highly recommend MotoGS Rental. We had a great experience and would definitely rent from Frank and his team again. Tim
