Great place to build a Consulting Career
Arbeitsatmosphäre: Netlight is an environment, which fosters collaboration with your colleagues instead of competition. Bringing own initiatives to share knowledge have helped me many times to solve complex problems and to inspire me with new ideas. Self-intrinsic motivation and performance is important as there's a high level of independence and freedom especially in the client work. Work-Life-Balance: For a consultancy Netlight offers great balance with work and life. Travelling has always been a minor aspect, as most projects are in the same city. In the recent years programs to support equal parental leave, child care, sabbaticals and part-time have improved many aspects for more flexibility between work and family. Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein: CO2-compensation of flights. Train-first. Sustainability initiatives in the offices. Karriere/Weiterbildung: Bi-annual career review processes and reflection process with the mentor allow steady career progress. Kollegenzusammenhalt: Like mentioned before collaboration is encouraged and to find support is an easy challenge within the network. Colleagues answer fast or recommend other colleagues. Vorgesetztenverhalten: High level of respect, professionalism and fairness of mentors. Senior colleages are accessable and open to support with perspectives. Arbeitsbedingungen: Great offices, nice atmosphere. Flexible work desks. At high times the buzz can be higher in the office. Kommunikation: Netlight is a network-organisation. Building a network and using these connections for improvement is important and expected. Communication happens often and is often connected with yearly mottos and storytellling. Gehalt/Sozialleistungen: Salary is fair and definitely above market. Good number of benefits like Jobrad, privately usable phone, daycare support. Gleichberechtigung: Multiple DEI initiatives are in place. Female and diverse role models in leadership positions. Transparent communication to further improve. English speaking environment at Netlight, nevertheless not all client-environments speak english. The situation varies here depending on the city.

Work-Life-Balance: Überstunden bis zu einer gewissen Anzahl abgegolten, wenn man allerdings mal seine echte Arbeitszeit erfassen möchte, gibt es sofort „Feedback“ (aka Ärger von oben). Als Berater wird man für 40 Stunden an den Kunden verkauft, alles weitere kommt on top. Z.B. verpflichtende Treffen mit „Mentor“ (diszipl. Vorgesetzter), „Lunch meetings“ und alles, woran man teilnehmen muss um weiter zu kommen (z.B. afterworks). Wer sich nicht häufig genug zeigt wird auf einem Level sitzen gelassen und darf sich beruflich umorientieren. Karriere/Weiterbildung: Leider weder marktüblich, noch der Unternehmensgröße und -profitabilität gerecht. Im hauseigenen L&D Programm „Genuine Consulting“ wird leider nur Netlight-internes Wissen und Kultur vermittelt. Stellt mMn keine echte Weiterbildung dar, wurde aber im Bewerbungsprozess als Benefit verkauft. Man muss sich selber kümmern und z.B. Udemy Kurse oder Bücher kaufen (konnte man immerhin eine Zeit lang finanziell geltend machen). Umgang mit älteren Kollegen: Gibt‘s kaum. Wehe man empfiehlt eine Person, die schon 5-6 Jahre Arbeitserfahrung hat. Vorgesetztenverhalten: Intransparent. Immer alles durch die Blume, wehe du gehst nicht mit. Einige versuchen es besser zu machen, aber das System ist leider toxisch, das wichtigste ist die Fassade. Arbeitsbedingungen: Gute Geräte, aber nur Großraumbüro und keine noise cancelling Kopfhörer. Gleichberechtigung: Auf geschlechterdisparität wird geachtet, alle anderen Dimensionen von Diversität leider zweit- oder sogar drittrangig. Hier möchte man nicht arbeiten, wenn man z.B. eine Behinderung hat. Interessante Aufgaben: Wenn man es sich aussuchen kann, sehr spannend. Wenn man schon länger „auf der Bank“ sitzt und der Druck steigt, wird es gerne auch mal ziemlich stumpf.

Still happy after 7 years: a company that embodies great values and constant growth
Arbeitsatmosphäre: I've been part of this company for almost seven years now, and I continue to be impressed by its commitment to fostering a positive work culture and driving meaningful improvements. To me the core values here aren't just slogans - they're truly reflected in how employees are treated and how the business is run. Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein: Netlight is committed to sustainability and social responsibility. Efforts are made to minimize the environmental impact of operations, and there are initiatives in place to contribute positively to the community. Examples: train first, repair first, veggie/vegan food, bike leasing, collaborative and high impactful initiatives with NGOs... Karriere/Weiterbildung: I've had good growth opportunities over the years, suitable for me and my pace, and the company always ensured that I was supported in my professional development. I especially liked the individually designed personal development courses that helped me grow in my role as coach and mentor. Kollegenzusammenhalt: Netlight is my 3rd employer and what I can say is that I have never had an environment like here. There is a strong sense of trust. And I must say that I truly enjoy working with people that care! To me this is unique. Vorgesetztenverhalten: There are pretty flat hierarchies. I have never had a boss at Netlight which might sound a bit different to what you are used to in other companies in Germany. However I can assure that it is pretty refreshing to work with a mentor and coach and being enabled & empowered instead of delegated & restricted. Kommunikation: In my opinion Netlight genuinely listens to feedback (way more than I have experienced in other companies) and continuously works on making things better for employees, which creates a sense of belonging and motivation. Especially throughout the last year when the job market was hit hard by the economy crisis the communication remained being transparent and honest. I appreciate the fairness a lot! Gehalt/Sozialleistungen: Salary progression is pretty satisfying! On top: mentoring & coaching, regular career evaluation, Deutschlandticket, phone, laptop, Yoga, gym, events, parental support, 30 vacation days, bike leasing, mental health support... Gleichberechtigung: DEI is a fundamental part of Netlight's DNA, shaping how we work, collaborate, and grow together. Being part of creating safer spaces as well as feeling equally & fair treated helps me a lot to go my way. Whether it is about equity & inclusion in hiring processes and career development, parental leave & support, equal chances to grow or same salary progression as men etc. Makes me proud to see that it is completely normal for men to go on long parental leave and care for their kids. Still an exception, unfortunately!

Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich: Das Positive an diesem Arbeitgeber sind die Kolleginnen und Kollegen, die zugänglich, hilfsbereit und angenehm im Umgang sind. Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich: Ein großes Defizit an Transparenz: Die Firma basiert nicht auf Leistung, sondern darauf, wer sich besser bei den richtigen Personen einschmeichelt. Fähigkeiten und Kompetenzen spielen dabei kaum eine Rolle. Arbeitsatmosphäre: Insgesamt gute Atmosphäre, jedoch beeinträchtigen viele unauthentische Personen das Gesamtbild. Work-Life-Balance: Ein starker Fokus auf Kundenarbeit kann die Karriereentwicklung einschränken, da Mitarbeiter oft als reine "Umsetzer" wahrgenommen werden, ohne dass ihr strategisches Potenzial anerkannt wird. Obwohl Kunden das Fundament des Unternehmenserfolgs sind, führt die Vernachlässigung interner Sichtbarkeit und persönlicher Weiterentwicklung häufig dazu, dass andere, die sich auf interne Netzwerke und Projekte konzentrieren, schneller aufsteigen. Kollegenzusammenhalt: Hervorragende Kolleginnen und Kollegen. Umgang mit älteren Kollegen: Es gibt keinen Umgang mit älteren Kollegen, da solche schlichtweg nicht vorhanden sind. Dies führt gelegentlich dazu, dass Mitarbeiter, die gerade erst ihre Karriere begonnen haben, sich fälschlicherweise als erfahren genug sehen, um Führungspositionen einzunehmen – was jedoch keineswegs der Realität entspricht. Vorgesetztenverhalten: Ein Mangel an Transparenz und direkter Kommunikation in der Führung schafft Misstrauen und Unsicherheit innerhalb des Teams. Ohne klare, offene Informationen und ehrlichen Austausch fehlen die Grundlagen für effektive Zusammenarbeit, Engagement und langfristigen Erfolg. Kommunikation: Mangel an direkter Kommunikation. Gleichberechtigung: Die Firma vermittelt den Eindruck von Vielfalt, doch in Wirklichkeit beschränkt sich diese hauptsächlich auf die Gleichstellung von Männern und Frauen. Abgesehen davon handelt es sich um ein überwiegend weißes Unternehmen, das von Schweden geführt wird – und das wird sich voraussichtlich auch nicht ändern. Interessante Aufgaben: Die Auswahl der Aufgaben liegt nicht bei einem selbst, sondern wird vom Vertrieb getroffen. Gerät man an einen schwierigen Kunden, kann dies die Arbeit erheblich erschweren. Auch wenn kommuniziert wird, dass ein Wechsel des Kunden möglich sei, hat dies oft negative Auswirkungen auf die persönliche Karriereentwicklung.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich: In my opinion Netlight should also include coaching. In my opinion there is only internal coaching which in my opinion limits the perspectives that Netlighters have. Verbesserungsvorschläge: I'd suggest to communicate more transparently. Besides that I'd suggest to stop glorifying roles and creating senior journeys where there should be none. Arbeitsatmosphäre: Super! I really enjoyed going to the office and meeting the folks there. Image: Not widely known on my opinion. Work-Life-Balance: In my opinion you can own that yourself! Karriere/Weiterbildung: In my opinion in sales the career path is very intransparent. Gehalt/Sozialleistungen: I'd say average when I was there. Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein: Good Kollegenzusammenhalt: I really liked my colleagues but I had the feeling there was always a bit of politics involved. A peer once called it "The Netlight game of thrones". Umgang mit älteren Kollegen: In my opinion there are none except leadership. Vorgesetztenverhalten: In my opinion the Mentor model that Netlight runs puts people in leading positions that have not enough experience to do so. In my opinion the impact these mentors have on your career does not reflect the competence they have. Arbeitsbedingungen: Great! Kommunikation: In my opinion the communication is not very transparent. In my opinion problems are not being talked about and there is a small group of people taking decisions in a restricted and exclusive group. I do not think this is a big issue but in my opinion it does not align with how Netlight presents itself. Gleichberechtigung: Great Interessante Aufgaben: In my opinion (especially in Sales) there is a lot of freedom and flexibility to shape your job.
