Absolutely fantastic
Absolutely fantastic! I was annoyed with the ads, and then I used Brave browser. Then the Google sent the "get the app" messages all the time and stopped the videos. The Gemini recommended the Newpipe, and it is incredible. Now, I transfer the subscriptions. I'm just waiting for the email so I can upload it to the NP. Thanks for the developers. 🙏

it would be the perfect YT app if just...
I love newpipe. It would be potentially the perfect youtube app but there are some problems 1. Developers are very unkind and tyrannic, as it (paradoxically) often happens with a lot of open source software. Everytime I report a bug my tickets on github get deleted or ignored or closed, saying "it is not a bug but a feature" or for other incomprensible reasons 2. It has a bad bug, you cannot take pauses when watching a long video, because if you keep a video paused for some minutes, when you resume it gets rewinded at beginning (even this bug report of mine was rejected) 3. From time to time some restricted videos can't be watched and one has to wait several days for a fix (ok this is not entirely NP's fault) 4. (This is very ridiculous) you are NOT allowed (on some phones at least? Not clear...) to choose the system Download folder as default download folder. Which *makes no sense, given thar is the very, sole purpose of the Download folder*!!! And on my phone, *all apps* are using the system Download folder without problem, as it is normal! No, Newpipe does not allow it!!! Yet, if you choose to pick a destination folder manually everytime you download a video, it ALLOWS YOU TO PICK THE SYSTEM DOWNLOAD FOLDER!!! Rotfl This also is a topic I once rose on github but which was kind of censored... For the rest it is simply great, it also allows easy download of either videos or just audio, and I would have voted 5 if it were not for the points above, so I had to vote just 3, sorry, I just hope my criticisms have been constructive

Ich hätte echt nicht geglaubt, dass man die Bedienung noch bescheuerter als bei Youtube machen kann. Man hat es geschafft!

Je n'utilise plus Youtube!
Je n'utilise plus Youtube! Newpipe a totalement remplacé Youtube dans mon quotidien. Pas de publicité, et possiblité "d'écouter" les videos façon podcast (ou concert) en arrière plan. Quelques bugs parfois à corriger mais l'applicaiton mérite la note de 5 étoiles!
