Visit a local mobility scooters first.
I bought a new Zipper X5 automatic mobility scooter online via Nitrotek at the end of April 2026. On arrival I took it out of the box and after unfolding it with the battery, and using it on the same day the fob and button wouldn’t refold the scooter. I reported it that day but had to wait over a month for Nitrotek to arrange an engineer from Emmiera to come and fit a new receiver. The engineer turned up and fitted the new receiver but it would only unfold and fold using the button at the back, the fob wouldn’t operate it. Not good for someone with back issues. I contacted Nitrotek to collect it and refund me as per consumer 2015 rights and they duly refunded me. I did find corresponding with Nitrotek a chore as they flipped me between Nitrotek email and Zipper email addresses for some reason? I did think initially it was a bot replying to my emails. It made me think that even if the repair was successful on the automatic folding scooter, how long before the same fault happened again? The valuable lesson I learnt from visiting my local mobility scooter shop was that a manual opening scooter would lessen that issue, or at least an automatic one with a manual alternative fitted would have been a better option. I have been refunded in full for which I am grateful.

I purchased a mobility scooter from nitrotek
I purchased a mobility scooter from them, the 3 wheeled one. Firstly it took way longer than what they say on their site to deliver. I then assembled it in order to obviously ride it. The scooter was only tested out within my house. I did not like how quickly and rapidly it picks up speed. Almost makes u instantly zoom off, that is very unbalancing for the scooter, as it is a 3 wheeled. So needs more control, but this makes it out of control. Even when u reverse it zooms off, which caused my to fall off. Hence why I wanted to do a return. To return it was so hard and cost me £100 for the delivery. I purchased the scooter via Klarna, which charged me £133.33 for first payment. They only returned back £88.48 to me, saying box was damaged. When it was all damaged when I received it. Then they are saying some scratches from the assembling off the product and that is why they did some decutions. That is absolutely ridiculous, the scooter was £399, it has cost me almost £150, just to recieve it and return it. I mean how can someone try the product out if they are not going to assemble it first. Never buy a scooter or something like that online, where you cannot even test it out. Because sending a heavy item back is costly. Overall the customer service of this company is very poor and not consistent at all. The report was not sent to me or any notification about the refund. I only saw it through Klarna, it's their job to notify customers of returns themselves. I Do not recommend using this company for anything.
