AVOID THIS COMPANY — UNEXPECTED CHARGES AND MISLEADING INFORMATION Don’t be fooled by the good ratings — in my experience, those seem to mainly reflect the airport shuttle service, not the actual car rental experience. I rented a car from Routes in Canada and had a very frustrating experience. I was told that the rental included unlimited mileage, but I was later charged for additional kilometres. If unlimited mileage is advertised, customers should not have to discover later that there are conditions or limitations that were not clearly explained at the time of rental. The same happened with other policies and fees. Important conditions were either not properly explained or were presented in a way that was very easy to misunderstand. You only really discover how their pricing works when additional charges start appearing. I was also charged $190.25 CAD for crossing from British Columbia into Alberta for 6 days, even though I only actually spent 3 days in Alberta, and I had to dispute this charge and request a partial refund. What makes this particularly frustrating is that these aren't small unexpected costs — they can add up to a significant amount on top of the advertised rental price. My advice: rent a car with any other company but this. There are too many unclear policies and unexpected charges, and the final price can be very different from what you initially expect.

Avoid this company. We booked a rental car with Routes in Denver thru Priceline. The location was very far from the airport and the shuttle was extremely bumpy. Once in the office to pick up the car, the experienced was not smooth. The queue for picking up (with a reservation) was over an hour long. Then, checkin process did not match what the paperwork said when we reserved it and they could not make any booking changes to honor our reservation, and the whole thing had to get cancelled after having waited hours since landing in the morning, which also made us late to our event later that afternoon. Needless to say we rebooked with another company. Pros: the lady at the desk was otherwise polite when she spoke with us. Cons: the desk lady being nice does not make up for the entire company’s poor organization and unpleasant pickup experience. IN SUMMARY: First time booking a rental car with Routes, and LAST time. DO NOT book your rental car with Routes. If you’re booking through an intermediary like Priceline or Expedia, make sure the final reservation is NOT with Routes under any circumstances.

If I could give no stars I would. Awful fraudulent company who have stolen money after my husband rented a car from them at YVR, which was returned on time and in good order. They have added on and debited our credit card with an unauthorised amount and have not explained the charges or returned the money (after we already paid Booking.com up front for the costs of the car rental, which included unlimited mileage). We have emailed them several times and no response or money returned. We will be reporting this company for theft and fraud, contacting our credit card company and also will sue them for the distress caused. Avoid this company at all costs and Booking.com you should be ashamed of yourselves recommending this nasty outfit. Rude people at the counter and theft of monies! The positive reviews cannot be correct and I wouldn’t put it past Routes to have got their friends and acquaintances to post these themselves.

Great Experience
I had a fantastic experience with ROUTES Car Rental in Marrakech. The whole team was professional, friendly, and helpful from start to finish. Mehdi made the pickup experience extremely smooth. He gave me a warm welcome, explained everything clearly, and provided me with a great car. He also advised me to take a video of the car before driving off, which made the drop-off process much easier. Rasheed was amazing to deal with and had excellent communication. He was friendly, professional, and always easy to talk to. Sohaib made the return process very smooth and stress-free. Mervan kindly dropped us off at the airport in a very respectful and professional manner. Overall the whole team was excellent. Everything was exactly what I expected from a good car rental company and the service throughout our rental was outstanding. I would 100% recommend ROUTES Car Rental to anyone renting a car in Marrakech. Thank you to the entire team for making our experience so easy and enjoyable.
