Rubbish customer service
I've had quite a few things from SGS over the years which have been fine. The tools are good but the customer service is a joke. I got a wet & dry vac from them about nine months ago and needed a new filter and bags. The web site said out of stock. I asked for a call back, via a contact form, nothing. After two phone calls to the sales team and a promised call back, again nothing. I even asked who made the vac so I could try and source the items from the web, but they couldn't even tell me that. The tools are ok but go elsewhere if you need spares or customer support.

Defects in product
Defects in product, had to grind down to fit bolts through etc. Also missing hardware. Waste of money

Lovely to deal with
I bought a basic toolchest which was on offer at the time. It was duly dispatched and arrived the next day. We unboxed it on thursday and noticed a dent in the item - box was undamaged. We dult contacted customer services who offered a prompt resolution. We built the item and whilst it is a budget toolbox it has some great features. Foam in each drawer - thin but perfect to stop clanking when dropping tools into the, The top drawers can be locked by locking down the lid. All in all I would happily recommend this company to deal with

Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service, no response to several emails, and particularly unhelpful when managed to speak to someone on the phone, purchased an item, unused refused to take item back even though all we wanted to do was exchange it, we had purchased several items through SGS, never again ! stay clear

Great products, aggressive marketing
**Good products, but the marketing is ridiculous** I ordered some bottle jacks from SGS Engineering and, to be fair, the jacks themselves are great. Unfortunately, the experience since ordering has been completely ruined by the amount of marketing I've received. I've been getting at least two marketing emails a day. I've used the unsubscribe link multiple times, but they kept coming. Eventually I had to contact SGS customer services directly, who told me that my details had now been removed from their marketing database. I also made it clear that I don't want to receive postal marketing. I was told that I would need to contact Golley Slater, who apparently handle the postal marketing for SGS. I don't understand why I'm expected to do that. SGS is the company I bought from and SGS is the company that provided my details to Golley Slater in the first place. If I tell SGS that I don't want any further marketing, surely SGS should simply contact the company they've instructed to carry out their marketing and tell them not to send anything to me. Why should I have to contact a third party that I have never dealt with, just to stop marketing that SGS arranged in the first place? It's a real shame because the products themselves seem to be good quality, but I really don't appreciate this unnecessary hard-sell approach. Being bombarded with emails and then having to chase different companies to get the marketing stopped is not the sort of customer experience I want. As a result, despite being happy with the products, I won't be using SGS again.
