Outrageous Repair Charges

I've been a loyal Snap-On customer for years, but today was the last straw! I sent in a drill in for repair/replacement of a new 3/8" chuck that was faulty. I never receive an estimate of costs, but they are usually acceptable. The cost today was $168.00 for $25 part on a $130.00 drill! Never again Snap-! As all my tools die, they will be replaced with DeWalt or Milwaukee! You lost a good customer today, hope it was worth it!

expensive! but gets job done!

Tools are high engineered pieces of equipment and get the jo done accurately and reliably, however the prices are over priced due to mechanics in the trade pouring a lot of money into them with repairs becoming complexed or locked by factories due to certain tools that are only factory available for that specific manufacturer. Some of the new apprentices cannot afford them and also a lot of reputation for snap on comes from the automotive trade. Think of it as fancy makeup like mac, Sephora etc, but for mechanics! overpriced! some of the tools are hyped just because they say ' snap - on ' on them and give boasting rights. I think the prices should be fair which would reflect the trust mechanics have in the tools and heritage it share sin the automotive industry.

Rubbish communication

Rubbish communication, follow up, whilst they offer a good warranty period that is where the service ends.

Customer service is set up in the most…

Customer service is set up in the most ineffective, frustrating manner. You don't get to maintain a thread with any one rep...you have to start over every time you reply to an email reply they send. It becomes very obvious that the new rep, replying to you, did not take the time to review the previous messages...and so...you end looping back through any number of the already provided info... It's absolutely freakin' crazy that they would ask any question, knowing that your reply will very likely not reach them. On top of that...they don't seem to have any sort of efficacy in the system they use to identify replacement parts. They've just been mostly guessing...for several months now... as to which drawer slides to send me and they still haven't figured it out, despite my sending pictures of them, measurements, manufacturer info, written, detailed descriptions, etc.... They also have been disregarding my requests for some touch-up paint to cover up the areas which they missed, back at the factory...ya know...those interior areas that ya wouldn't see unless you actually fully remove the drawers... ...Apparently it's not considered a manufacturing defect to have failed to coat the entire box with paint‽ Oh!...and that'll be $40 for a 12 oz spray can...that I bet doesn't go as far as you'd certainly hope it would. Do your research folks!...This is no longer a company with prices that match their quality...they've gone from astronomical, to just flat out retahded.
