Good customer services
We rented a Beta 2S SC (stationwagon with toilet) for 5 weeks from Auckland and drop off in Christchurch. Good support for getting sim card working and added a piece to extend the bed (when sleeping with backdoor open using tent-piece). We never used the toilet, but with the certificate we where allowed to stay outside campsites at certain spots. Good customer support and at drop off they arranged a free taxi drop-of at Christchurch center. Cars are a bit old but we did not have any mechanical issues on the road.

We had a great experience
We had a great experience with Spaceship rentals. They gave us everything we needed for our road trip and were very helpful if we had any questions. We felt very looked after with them.

Could not have had a worse experience
Could not have had a worse experience. My partner and I decided to rent a campervan with this company, booked through an external company who organised everything for us they were fab however the disappointment this company caused would’ve ruined our trip if we let it. To start things off we picked it up within the first day we noticed the door wouldn’t open, NONE of the USB were working and the fridge also kept dying. We went back the next day drove out of our way to get this fixed, they were able to fix the door and told us WE WOULD HAVE TO BUY a USB adapter ourselves to make this work. Outrageous. I spoke to the manager who said she would refund us the adapter and refund the day fee for the van. The experience just kept getting worse. We couldn’t fix the fridge we were nowhere near the stations and also they told us in the garage that they couldn’t fix it and it was just going to have to do. Me and my partner spent a fortune on food as it was either going off in the fridge or we would have to eat out because the fridge kept cutting out despite always keeping it on 1 as instructed. I raised a complaint with customer services but they did nothing except a sorry as the guy said when we dropped it back to Auckland he felt so sorry for us and the amount of money we paid is awful for the way we were treated that was coming from a staff member. ANYWAY to sum up PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH we could have got a lot better for our money had we shopped somewhere else. We have not recommended this to any of our friends who have been travelling New Zealand and wouldn’t wish an experience like we had on anyone.

Good time with Dream Sleeper Mini
I had a good time in the Dream Sleeper Mini. The car was working well without problems. Equipment was sufficient, but the cooking gear did not include a fire lighter. Before I could use the camping cooker I needed to buy one. Unfortunately, the water tap did not work. Also, due to the change in the Auckland depot, I got a short notice message saying that the drop of location changed.

A bit cramped.
I was a little disappointed by the height of the van in the back. It was impossible to sit up and I can't imagine that 2 people would be comfortable in it. It was better with the extension but still not ideal and with the colder weather the extension is just not feasible. Everything else was great- ease of pick up and drop off, the equipment, responsiveness of the spaceship team, and the general condition of the van ( that wasn't really a van).
