Disgraceful response to a Family Asking for Accessibility Help I am updating my review because the response I have now received from Starfury Conventions is, in my opinion, far more concerning than the original lack of communication. My original enquiry concerned my elderly mother, who is living with Alzheimer’s and has been a Stargate fan for many years. We wanted to fulfil a long-standing promise to take her to a Stargate convention and contacted Starfury to see whether there was anything they could do to help us attend. Their response included this extraordinary sentence: “Given your comments on , are you honestly still expecting us to help you?” I find those words disgraceful. Yes, I left a negative review. That review described our experience and explained why this mattered so much to our family. Leaving an honest review should never result in a customer being spoken to as though they have somehow forfeited the right to ask for assistance. Starfury also stated that we contacted them after tickets had gone off sale. If no tickets could possibly be made available, they could simply have said so. “Unfortunately, the event is sold out and we are unable to accommodate your request.” That would have been disappointing, but perfectly understandable. Instead, they chose to bring up my review and ask whether I “honestly” still expected them to help us. That is the part I find particularly troubling. This was an enquiry involving an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s. We were not demanding that rules be broken. We were asking whether anything could be done because this could be one of the last opportunities our family has to give my mother an experience connected to something she has loved for many years. Companies are entitled to defend themselves against criticism. They are entitled to explain their policies and correct anything they believe is inaccurate. But customers are equally entitled to leave honest reviews without being made to feel that doing so may influence whether they subsequently receive assistance. The convention had not even taken place when this exchange occurred. There was still an opportunity to respond with kindness, professionalism and perhaps suggest an alternative, even if tickets genuinely could not be provided. Instead, this is the response we received: “Given your comments on , are you honestly still expecting us to help you?” I think that sentence tells prospective customers a great deal about the attitude we encountered. For an organisation built around a fan community, I expected considerably more compassion and professionalism, particularly when dealing with an elderly disabled fan and her family. What should have been an exciting opportunity to create a precious memory for my mother has instead become an upsetting and deeply disappointing experience. Starfury, you could simply have said no. There was absolutely no need to speak to us like this. I am extremely disappointed with Starfury Conventions and the way our enquiry regarding the Stargate convention this coming weekend in birmingham has been handled. this is the previous review: My mother has been a big Stargate fan for many years, and we had always promised that one day we would take her to a convention. She is now elderly and living with Alzheimer’s, and we finally had the opportunity to make this happen for her. We contacted Starfury in advance to explain her circumstances and ask about arrangements that would allow her to attend. Unfortunately, despite waiting and hoping for a response, we never received one. We kept waiting because we genuinely believed someone would eventually get back to us, and now tickets are no longer being sold. This is particularly upsetting because my mother is due to undergo surgery soon. Given her age and health, we simply do not know how many more opportunities like this she will have. This weekend could have been a very special memory for her and for our family. I understand that conventions are businesses and have costs to cover, but fan conventions should also be about community, bringing people together and giving fans the opportunity to experience something meaningful. They should not feel as though everything revolves around making money for organisers or appearances. For an elderly fan with Alzheimer’s, this wasn’t simply about attending another event. It was about giving her the chance to reconnect with something she loved and creating a precious family memory while we still can. I sincerely hope Starfury will think about how enquiries involving elderly and disabled fans are handled in the future. Sometimes a simple reply can mean far more to a family than the person answering the email may realise.

I traveled all the way from other country for this event, only for it to be cancelled just two days before it was supposed to happen. Just four days before, you were urging people to buy tickets quickly because they were close to selling out. I paid in a foreign currency, I'm losing about 10% on the refund due to exchange rates—I'm probably out around 50 pounds in total. This is the worst. I wish you had processed the refunds much sooner. After I complained about all of this, I got blocked from the community Facebook page. I haven't even received my full refund yet, but you sure are fast when it comes to blocking people! 28 Aug still no refunded

Book at your own peril. My wife and I had been to two previous Starfury Events and had a good time. Staff were hit and miss, with most being friendly but others rude. We had booked for the Starfury Invasion event for this year. It was obvious that there were issues leading up to the event, with the late announcement of guests and late release of the hotel booking link. The organiser cancelled the event two days prior to it being scheduled, after admitting that there had been issues for weeks. Refunds were promised to start the next week. Long story short, we only received our after contacting the bank. People asking for an update on refunds, us included, were blocked from the Facebook group. To date, six weeks later, people are still saying they are waiting for refunds. If you choose to attend an event run by Starfury, make sure to book hotels / parking with the cancellation option. Personally, we are never going to another Starfury run event.

Simply scandalous! Last year I bought the gold ticket for the "modest" sum of 320 euros for Lux4, of which there was still no certainty for the guests. In June 2026, we were told that it will be moved and that everything will be communicated via mail within a week, no mail arrived, and after two months, me and other people wrote on a post with a different topic, because they didn't respond to the Lux4 post, and they deleted all our comments without giving us any response, we rewrote them again and in addition to deleting them, again, they also blocked us. Do you block a customer who paid you 320 euros? A customer waiting for news that he'll never see because you blocked him? I wrote in a mail that I wanted my ticket to be refunded, because such behaviour is unacceptable, and I was told that I was rude and hostile, the same motivation given to others. I see these comments that "dear" Sean has made worse... scandalous and outraged treating people like this

I attended Highlanders 9 this weekend, and what a weekend it's been! This is my 7th Highlanders event and each and every one of them has been amazing. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the line up of guests superb. Looking forward to H10 next year!

Auch nicht für Geld. Unclaimed ist fair. Claimed gibt das Mikrofon — nicht den Radiergummi.
