Sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung mit der Dukes Cambridge Summer School. Von einer renommierten akademischen Summer School für Jugendliche hätte ich deutlich mehr pädagogisches Fingerspitzengefühl und Verhältnismäßigkeit erwartet. Aus meiner Sicht sind Ausgrenzung und der Ausschluss eines Jugendlichen wegen eines vergleichsweise geringfügigen Vorfalls keine angemessene pädagogische Reaktion, insbesondere wenn keine Gefahr oder schwerwiegende Situation vorlag. Jugendliche sollten in solchen Situationen begleitet, angeleitet und dazu befähigt werden, aus Fehlern zu lernen nicht durch Maßnahmen demotiviert und ausgegrenzt werden. Akademischer Anspruch allein reicht nicht aus: Gerade bei Jugendlichen sollten Menschlichkeit, Kommunikation und pädagogische Verantwortung im Mittelpunkt stehen. Akademische Bildung ohne pädagogische Empathie und Menschlichkeit ist für mich keine gute Vorbereitung auf das Leben.

Career Discovery
Our son had a fantastic time at Dulwich. Hearing him say, “That was the best thing I’ve ever done” and “We need to do this again” was exactly the response we had hoped for after his two-week experience on the Careers Discovery Course. He hasn’t just come home with a huge boost in confidence, he’s also developed a real appetite for learning and education. He’s become more curious about the world around him, more open to trying new things, and has come home excited to tell us about all the new experiences he got involved in. I feel like I dropped off a young child and, two weeks later, a curious young pre-teen with a newfound enthusiasm for life came home, quite literally with a skip in his step. It was wonderful to see. He's made friends along the way (which I hear are planning their next 2027 trip) The staff were also fantastic. They were approachable, kind, fun and genuinely caring, and it was clear that they wanted every child to feel comfortable, included and excited to get involved. Knowing he was in such a positive and supportive environment made the experience even more special for us as parents. Thank you for giving him the best experience he's "ever had!" Core memory locked!

A truly valuable experience in his journey to adulthood
In just two weeks, Tudor gained more than he had gained during an entire school year. He gained confidence in himself. He discovered inner strengths and qualities that he had not fully realized he possessed. He experienced the sincere appreciation of the young people around him, and, most importantly, he felt respected and valued by his teachers and activity leaders. For Tudor, this was perhaps the most beautiful and emotional part of the entire experience. Their respect helped him understand that he is a valuable young person, capable of achieving many meaningful things in life. For us, as parents, there was one especially precious moment. We asked him what he believed he had done to deserve the appreciation of those around him (for ex. to be chosen as Star of the Day, to receive the black wristband and to be among the students who were recognized in such a special way). His answer was simple: “I was myself. That was all.” For us, this answer meant everything. We live in an extremely competitive world, in which schools do not always succeed in encouraging quieter, deeper and more thoughtful young people. Too often, the focus is placed on speed, visibility, noise and those who are naturally very vocal. What the SBC team achieved was therefore extraordinarily valuable: you brought to the surface the very best and most substantial qualities in Tudor — his emotional intelligence, his depth of thought, his calm strength, his kindness and the balanced values with which he has been raised. Thank you, SBC, for doing for Tudor what no other learning environment had managed to do until now: you truly saw him, understood him and helped him recognize his own value, exactly as he is. We are deeply grateful to every teacher, activity leader and member of the SBC team who contributed to this experience. You have given Tudor not only wonderful memories, friendships and knowledge, but also something that may stay with him for the rest of his life: greater trust in himself.

Summer Boarding Course at Earlscliffe Summer School
My daughter recently attended the Summer Boarding Course “Art & Design” at Earlscliffe Summer School, and I can confidently say it was one of the most enriching and joyful experiences of her life. She told me that the days she spent there were among the best she’s ever had, and she will always carry these beautiful memories in her heart. The course itself was highly engaging and inspiring. It offered a wide range of tools and opportunities for creative and personal development. The lectures were delivered with enthusiasm and professionalism, making every class both fun and educational. My daughter found the lessons incredibly enjoyable and motivating. Beyond the classroom, there were numerous well-organized activities that helped students spend their time meaningfully and happily. They also had the chance to explore London and visit key sights, along with other trips to nearby places of interest, which added great value to the overall experience. The living arrangements were excellent—students were provided with cozy, bright rooms, delicious meals, and convenient laundry services. Everything was so well taken care of that the students had nothing to worry about; their only task was to enjoy their time and make the most of the experience. My daughter told me that she started and ended each day with a smile, describing the school as a “wonderland.” In addition to gaining new skills and inspiration, she also formed wonderful friendships with students from around the world—which is truly priceless. I must also express my sincere gratitude to the SBC administrative team. Their support was outstanding; they responded quickly and kindly to all my questions and offered helpful recommendations whenever needed. I truly believe that this summer course at Earlscliffe, made possible by SBC, has been a pivotal experience for my daughter. It has not only enhanced her skills but also helped shape her future path with greater confidence and clarity. Thank you once again for making this summer so special and unforgettable for her.
