I bought a Monark acoustic guitar from…
I bought a Monark acoustic guitar from Guitar Fabrik in October 2025, which I received. On playing it, I found it difficult to keep in tune and got in contact with customer services, who replied and after sending videos and measurements I was asked to return the guitar to the luthier in France, paid for by GF. New machine heads were ordered and installed and the guitar sent back to me in Northern Ireland. While it took many weeks to sort out, I was kept informed throughout and the whole matter dealt with by GF. I would single out Elaine at customer services for special mention; she was very helpful. Definitely 5 stars from me.

A high quality kit which looks, sounds and feels far better than the price suggests
Let's get the negative thing out of the way. Shipping and delivery was troublesome due to customers and duties and paperwork. Thanks, Brexit. But that aside, I'm really happy with my bass kit from Guitar Fabrik. The wood was really accurately cut. The components are obviously towards the budget end of the scale, but everything works, fits and sounds great. The online guides are really detailed and truly helped me to make a he most of my build. Guitar Fabrik's finishing kits are great. I went for a stain/dye to give a transparent finish with subtle colours and wood grain clarity. I spent a long time working on the setup of my bass, and honestly it plays better than some factory basses I own. Super low action, accurate geometry, and high quality pickups despite their likely origin as overseas unbranded copies. Keep your expectations in check, take your time on the build and the finish, and you won't be disappointed.

I bought this kit as a complete novice…
I bought this kit as a complete novice although it said it was for an intermediate stage builder, but I thought I'd have a go. Mistakes were made, but that was part of my learning curve. The kit I could not fault. The quality of the finish when it arrived was top class and really didn't need any intervention from me. The kit comes with all the hardware you'll need to complete the build and for the price can not be of better value. I've learnt a lot from this build and would I buy it again as a novice? You bet I would, and not make the same mistakes I made the first time as this is a great bit of kit.

In my opinion The Guitar Fabric makes one of the best DIY guitar kits. It’s definitely worth paying a little bit more for a quality product. Customer service is great too and overall I couldn’t be more happier.
