Excellent service, reassuring transparency and a substantial saving
I used TorFX to transfer the proceeds from the sale of a New Zealand property to Australia. As I was unfamiliar with international money transfers, moving such a substantial amount of money this way was understandably somewhat daunting, particularly given the prevalence of financial scams. What impressed me was the combination of personal service, business transparency and ease of use. The level of identification required, together with being able to independently verify TorFX as an established and publicly identifiable business, did a great deal to alleviate my concerns. Their app and online portal were also extremely user-friendly. As I transferred the money in several separate transactions, I could monitor the funds arriving in my TorFX account, which was particularly reassuring when dealing with a large sum for the first time. Craig Dwyer was my TorFX broker and was excellent throughout. Given my unfamiliarity with the process, I particularly valued the human element; having an actual person available to answer questions and help me navigate each stage made an enormous difference. The financial benefit was substantial as well. Compared with transferring the money through my bank, the exchange rate I received through TorFX saved me approximately A$8,000. On a transaction of this size, shopping around rather than simply accepting my bank's exchange rate was very worthwhile. I came to the process cautious and very aware of the potential for scams when transferring money internationally. TorFX suggested that I first make a small test transfer to confirm that the transfer process and account details were working correctly before sending the larger amounts. That simple precaution, together with their transparency and verification processes, the ability to monitor my funds through the app, and particularly Craig's personal assistance, gave me confidence throughout. I would happily use TorFX again and recommend them to others, especially anyone making a substantial international transfer for the first time.
