Extremely Disappointing Experience – Proceed with Caution
I traveled from the United States to VeraSmile Clinic because of its outstanding online reputation and the promises made before I arrived. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing like what was advertised. This review reflects my personal experience as an international patient who invested thousands of dollars and placed my trust in this clinic. From the moment my payment was received, I felt the level of care and communication changed dramatically. Before committing to treatment, communication was prompt and reassuring. After payment, it became increasingly difficult to get clear answers, and I often felt like my concerns were simply obstacles to getting me through the process. One of my biggest concerns involved the treatment itself. Dr. Moyfat Karimov, who performed my extractions, was extremely aggressive. I have undergone dental work before, but nothing prepared me for this experience. The most painful part was that the surface of my gums was never numbed before the anesthetic injections were administered. Those injections into un-numbed tissue were excruciating. Before treatment, I repeatedly requested sedation because of my severe dental anxiety and the extensive work that was planned. Those requests were never accommodated, and I underwent multiple extractions, bone grafting and surgeries using only local anesthetic. On the second visit I urged dental sedation and was only given a 4mg dose of Dormizol. Not sedated. By contrast, I want to be fair and acknowledge that Dr. Sinan Çakır, who completed my final restorative work, was much gentler and more professional in his approach. My criticism is not directed at every individual I encountered but at the overall management of my care and the clinic's handling of serious patient concerns. Scheduling throughout my stay was chaotic. Despite asking several times, I was never provided with a reliable treatment schedule. On multiple occasions I received as little as 30 minutes' notice before an appointment. Other appointments were postponed until the following day with no notice at all. As someone who had traveled internationally and arranged an entire vacation around this treatment, this was frustrating and unnecessary. Communication was made even more difficult because the translator assigned to me on the return trip often appeared distracted. Instead of focusing on ensuring that my concerns were clearly communicated between myself and the dentists, he frequently seemed more interested in his cell phone or checking his appearance in any reflective surface he could find. As an international patient who depended entirely on translation, this was disappointing. My greatest concern was my bite. On three separate occasions, I told the clinic that my upper teeth were not meeting my lower teeth correctly. Each time I was told that nothing was wrong and that this was simply "how my mouth naturally is." I trusted their professional opinion because they were the experts. Looking back, I deeply regret accepting those assurances instead of insisting on a more thorough evaluation. Perhaps the most disturbing moment occurred immediately after my treatment was completed. While my face was still numb, while I was still in pain, and before I had even been given the opportunity to properly examine my new teeth in a mirror, I was presented with paperwork stating that I approved the appearance, fit, and overall treatment. I refused to sign it. I was not willing to certify that everything was satisfactory before I had even seen the final result or determined whether my bite was correct. What disappointed me most was the overall feeling that, once my payment had been received, my concerns no longer mattered. Rather than listening to the issues I repeatedly raised, I often felt they were dismissed so the clinic could move on to the next patient. Traveling abroad for major dental work requires an enormous amount of trust. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend VeraSmile Clinic. If you choose to undergo treatment there, I strongly encourage you to: Demand a written schedule of appointments before beginning treatment. Insist that concerns about your bite or comfort be thoroughly investigated rather than dismissed. If you require sedation, make absolutely certain those arrangements are confirmed before your treatment begins. Never sign any satisfaction or approval forms until you have completely evaluated the work and are confident that you are genuinely satisfied. I genuinely wish I had received the level of care and professionalism that was promised. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling disappointed, unheard, and without the confidence I expected after investing so much trust, time, and money in VeraSmile Clinic.

I came to the clinic expecting to start my treatment on Thursday. However, after I arrived, they realized that they could not begin before Saturday because they needed a different specialist for my case. I had already informed them in advance that my situation was more complex, so I was disappointed that this had not been planned beforehand. The staff are all very kind, friendly, and genuinely try to help. Unfortunately, communication is quite difficult. There is no one who speaks German well, and only a few staff members speak some English. This made it challenging to fully understand everything and discuss important details. Overall, the team is caring and professional, but I think the organization and communication with international patients could be improved significantly, especially when patients have already explained that their case requires special attention.

I was in search for of a good dental clinic here in Houston-USA, and somehow I got in touch with Beyza Can at VERA SMILE in Istanbul Turkey, She guided us every step of the way, When we arrived in Istanbul for my dental Implants I came to realize that I made one of the best decisions in my life, they handle everything from transfers to appointments and treated us like family never felt like strangers during stay in Istanbul, they completed my dental implants way ahead of time and we had more time to discover Istanbul with a new smile, thank you very much the Doctors and courtesious staff at VERA-SMILE.

Vera Smile Dental Clinic– what can I say? From the moment I arrived, the level of professionalism, care, and attention from the entire team was outstanding. The staff are fantastic, the doctors are highly skilled, and most importantly, they genuinely care about their patients. The pre-operative support, the procedure itself, and the post-operative aftercare have been among the best experiences I have ever had with any medical provider. Everything was explained clearly, and I always felt supported throughout the process. I do not often leave recommendations, so for me to say this means a great deal. Vera Smile has genuinely won me over, and I would confidently recommend them to anyone considering treatment. A special thank you to Merve Tolu, who was always available to provide guidance, reassurance, and answers to any questions I had, no matter how small. Your support made a real difference. I would also like to thank Malek Hereh, my consultant, who has been exceptional from start to finish and always on hand whenever I needed assistance. Finally, thank you to the doctors, nurses, translators and the entire Vera Clinic team for making the experience such a positive one. BEWARE: Clinic unresponsive to aftercare needs
BEWARE. Our experience with Vera Dental Clinic started out extremely positive in April 2024, when my husband and I traveled from the U.S. to Istanbul to have full crown restorations completed. Initially, everything was impressive. Communication was prompt and organized from the moment we booked. Transportation, hotel arrangements, and clinic coordination were seamless. The staff was professional, and a translator accompanied us throughout the process to explain procedures and communicate with the dentist. Dr. Mumin Manassra was clearly passionate about his work, and it showed. However, during my husband’s crown installation, it became obvious that one crown was not fitting correctly. The doctor appeared frustrated and made several calls regarding the crown that had been manufactured from the measurements taken. Despite this concern, the crown was ultimately installed. Less than a year later, that same crown fell off. This is where our experience changed completely. Because returning to Istanbul from the U.S. is extremely expensive, we tried to work collaboratively with the clinic to arrange aftercare support. Our initial contact, Ikbal, simply responded, “Doctor said to come back and he will take care of it,” followed by months of silence. Later, we were informed Ikbal no longer worked there and were directed to Mustafa. After exchanging preliminary information via WhatsApp, we agreed that I would send proposed travel dates by email so arrangements could be made. Timeline of communication attempts: April 10: Initial contact with Mustafa April 18: Follow-up email to Mustafa with proposed schedule — no response April 28: Follow-up email sent to info clinic general email — no response May 2: Final attempt to get a response email sent to general vera patient care requesting a reply by May 8 — no response As of May 16 when I'm writing this, we have received absolutely no acknowledgment or follow-up. We are extremely disappointed by the lack of communication, professionalism, and accountability regarding an issue that appears tied to a crown manufacturing or measurement problem. Not only would this require us to spend thousands of dollars traveling internationally again, but the clinic has made no meaningful effort to assist, communicate, or work toward a resolution. What is most disappointing is that we had previously recommended this clinic to friends and family based on our original experience. Unfortunately, our opinion has changed drastically. In our experience, the clinic is highly attentive when trying to secure your business, but far less responsive when post-procedure issues arise and support is needed. The complete radio silence regarding aftercare has been unacceptable. We can no longer recommend this clinic with confidence.
