TLDR: Do not trust the reviews on platforms where they are nearly all positive. Check out the reviews of customers on the 'advisor of trips' website. Like many real customers, I didn't go for Wiber's 'all inclusive' service. I was charged for damage to a car that was present at the time of collection. Despite me having proof in my favour, they flat out refused to help. Wiber defrauded me to the tune of £330 and they will do the same to you too. HERE'S MY FULL REVIEW: I hired a Toyota Corolla hybrid from Wiber for 3 days at a cost of £30. As I'd already purchased a Collison Damage Waiver policy elsewhere (and thank god I did), I declined their 'all inclusive' policy at the time of booking, besides it was much cheaper than what they were quoting me anyway. From my research, Wiber didn't appear to be the cheapest hire company out there and their CDW / excess values weren't the worst by far. Furthermore, I was encouraged by some of the online review outfit with scores of 4.5+ out of 5. What could possible go wrong?' Well, like countless of Wiber's other 'victims' it most certainly did go that way... The experience I had when collecting the car was as follows was broadly ok. Once you arrive at their site (in my case via their included shuttle bus service), you head into a nice, air-conditioned office, you collect a ticket and wait to be seen by one of the staff. Initially, the staff member who dealt with me seemed polite, personable and concise. He showed me the existing damage to the car on the computer screen and it seemed like we were nearly done. Then came the hard sell on their 'all inclusive' product. On and on he went about this and despite me repeatedly telling him that I was covered by a third-party CDW policy, he didn't want to let it go. I assume that they are paid a commission on every upgrade that they sell for the all inclusive service. Ultimately, I held my ground, signed the paperwork, took the keys and left. Now, the next part is really important. I wasn't instructed to read their paperwork and take special notice of the 2 hour window in which you have to identify any other damage to the car. I wasn't even accompanied to the car; I was pretty much left to my own devices. For the record, I took a good 10 minutes in the 36 degree heat to carefully inspect the car; I took over 5 minutes of video footage and multiple photos. Once I'd done that, I drove off and enjoyed my break. 3 days later and prior to returning the car I inspected it yet again, taking more videos and photos and, I filled the tank up to full. As I said above, dropping off was a very different experience to collection. I was made to wait in a long queue for around 30 minutes; not in an air-conditioned office, but outside in the 40 degree heat. The staff members dealing with returns were miserable although this didn't detract from the meticulous approach that they took when it came to inspecting the cars being returned. In my case, I was accompanied by an uninterested woman who barely spoke to me, but she did rather quickly take a keen interest in the chrome trim around the top of the drivers window. She claimed that this was new damage. To be fair, I hadn't noticed this before, but neither had they. I quickly went though the footage on my phone and I managed to find the damage for myself - it was present at the time of collection. It was hard to see for sure, but it was there nonetheless. I attempted to show her the video and she asked me 'did you upload this to the WhatsApp group'. I responded to this question by saying "what WhatsApp Group?" Ultimately, she said there was nothing she could do and she instructed to go and speak to the management. The management were not prepared to do anything, but assured me that if I sent my video evidence to their customer services team, they would review it, confirm the authenticity (by examining the meta-data I assume) and if Wiber decided that they had made a mistake, I'd receive a refund of any charges. At this point I should mention, they'd already issued me with an invoice for for £330. As the pair seemed entrenched, my threats weren't working and I had to get a plane home, I decided to go along with the recommendation of emailing the CS team. I was assured I'd receive a response within no more than 30 days of said email. Today is day 35 I unsurprisingly, I never received a response. They have not opened the link to the Microsoft OneDrive folder that I shared with them (containing my photos and footage). They have not responded to my chaser sent on day 29 and... they have not refunded me the £330 they charged me for damage that was provably present on the car prior to my collection. AVOID THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!

I can’t understand the poor reviews. We had great service, a lovely clean car with not a scratch on it, no problems at all. The agent did not try to push extra insurance on us at all and our deposit was returned straight after drop-off. This was Alicante airport office. Would definitely use again.

I do not recommend Wiber Rent a Car at Alicante Airport I rented a car from Wiber Rent a Car at Alicante Airport, Spain, from 25 June 2026 for three days. When I collected the car, it already had several damages, and these were recorded on the rental agreement. However, there was one very small scratch underneath the side mirror that was not listed. The scratch was so minor that it was almost not easy to notice. When I returned the car, the inspector went directly to that exact scratch, as if he already knew it was there. He immediately claimed it had to be repaired and said the cost would be deducted from my fuel deposit. I became really surprised, because I am sure it was not me! I explained that the scratch was already on the car when I picked it up, but he insisted that I had to pay for it. I then asked that, if they believed I was responsible, the charge should be taken from the damage deposit instead of the fuel deposit, so I could submit a claim through my travel insurance. The employee promised this would be done, but that promise was never kept. Since then, I have sent several messages to Wiber requesting an exclamation, but I have received no response at all. The lack of communication and customer service has been extremely disappointing. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Wiber Rent a Car at Alicante Airport. I felt treated unfairly and left with the impression that customers can be charged for pre-existing damage without proper investigation or support. Be careful also the staff ask you (the client) to rate them 10 stars in the beginning, and before signing the agreement. It is not free ratting! I would hear answer from the management why the staff have such treatment.

Wiber car rental at Alicante airport. I refused to pay extra insurance. Took photos showing no damage. On return there was a mark like a finger nail scratch underneath where the front bumper joined the frame of the car. Impossible to see unless you lay down on the floor. Couldn't see it on a photograph. Clearly a brand new mark placed there to catch users. Total rip off. Does not reduce value of the car. Could have been rubbed out with a bit of polish. Charged £285. Very sad because on previous visits Wiber have been fine. Guess what as it was a long rental the insurance i saved would have cost £285. Will never use Wiber again so have lost long term customer and guess what I will tell everybody I can.

Without doubt the worst experience from start to finish. What a disreputable awful negligent company. Upon arrival we had to wait for 40 minutes for a shuttle bus. Then upon check in everything was smiles until we politely declined the blatant, desperate upselling of . Collision Damage Waiver, an additional €137 for 3 days rental. Our refusal of additional cover prompted them to then insist that we had to pay €2,500 as a deposit on a debit card. Again we politely refused. They insisted that they could not take an alternative credit card. The manager of the depot was so rude that she threatened to call the police because we had stated that we were being mis-sold over priced waivers. Finally having been forced to pay the CDW €137 we drove the vehicle to Granada where we discovered the vehicle does not lock properly. The rear tailgate window is faulty and cannot lock into place which means the vehicle cannot lock with our 3 rental bikes unsecured. Please take this seriously- this company cannot are horrendous.
