Solid Akismet alternative.
My long-running Wordpress blog outpaced the free version of Akismet and Wordpress wanted way too much for the commercial version, so I decided to give Wordfence a try. I was quite pleased with their performance over several years (2018-2026) on a high traffic blog.

Outstanding Service and Support for Many Years
Wordfence Care has been excellent. Their team is knowledgeable, responsive and genuinely on top of everything. They completed a very thorough audit of our website, identified several issues that needed attention and provided clear instructions for correcting each one. I do not have a technical background, and they were extremely patient when explaining what everything meant and helping me understand what needed to be done. They answered all of my questions, followed up throughout the process and truly looked out for the security of our website. With their guidance, I was able to address every item identified in the audit. I feel much more confident knowing they are monitoring and protecting our website. Their service and support have been outstanding, and I highly recommend them.

Wordfence paid subscription is worth every cent
Wordfence paid subscription is worth every cent, (Wordfence free is amazing too). It does the job and keeps the bad guys away. Most importantly - these people are really easy to deal with. I trust them and would happily deal with them again if the opportunity arose.
