EDIT 2: You never gave me a chance for criticism. My suggestions for change on the website were heavily moderated and my tickets on the Discord channel were dismissed arbitrarily. I couldn’t express my issues any other way than through a third party. Believe me, if I could, I would have brought it up with you first, but your Discord and site policies made me nervous to be banned before I backed up all my work elsewhere. I didn’t need to be threatened with it myself, I saw it happen to others. And from what I know, you haven’t made any of the changes I suggested. That’s part of why I left the site to begin with. EDIT: They’ve requested my personal info, including my PHONE NUMBER. The site itself says that they requested my info, not that it’s a automated action. ORIGINAL REVIEW: World Anvil is NOT the place to do your worldbuilding. They have this friendly, “one of the small guys” vibe for the newly enamored, but in reality, they support AI generated content, show extreme favoritism in the community, refuse to listen to suggestions, threaten to ban you for constructive criticism, and generally charge exorbitant amounts of money for things you can do way better on Obsidian. Don’t even try it. Just research Obsidian tutorials. I regret not getting a refund for the terrible time I had on the site.

Dont recommend it
Dont recommend it! Forgot about the yearly subscription because I had absolutely no time to build at all. Canceled my subscription right when I got the mail saying it was renewed and immediately sent a message to support asking for a refund. Now, admittedly, forgetting about the subscription is my fault, nevertheless, you would assume that they would care about whether someone who is paying for their service is actually using it too. Seems to me though, just the money is also fine

Best option for worldbuilding with amazing team
Not only has WorldAnvil been extremely helpful to keep track of everything i make, they have a wonderful team who helped me get my account back when I messed up and almost lost it due to a payment issue. The team was patient, respectful and kept me updated. On the features side, its one of the few which I’d recommend getting a subscription for. The extra content, editing how your page looks adds a layer to your work.

I feel I was lied too about how great this product was
I saw all the YouTube channels raving about how great world anvil is, and bought into the idea that it was going to just make my life as dm so much easier. It was awful. After two months i cancelled my subscription. I really stopped using it after three weeks. It was a nightmare to navigate. I had expectations about maps, dungeon building and I can’t even begin to describe how let down I was.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!
The new changes are so annoying to work with that it's not fun at all to use this service anymore. Switching back and forth between old and new edit view constantly breaks formatting of the page, which makes it impossible to keep the changes. I have no idea why there is no option to permanently stay in old view window, but this is a game over for me and I won't be buying another subscription. I'm downloading all my content and moving to google docs as it is way easier to maintain and edit. It is very sad, because I invested so much time into building my WA, but It is simply impossible to work with the new changes. They are overcomplicated, overwhelming and overall more annoying than useful.
