Fantastic immersive 200hr YTT
Completing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Rishikesh Yogkulam this past August was a milestone experience, made all the more special because I was able to share the journey with my son. Having practiced (on and off) for 20+ years, I have always valued the physicality of yoga and the headspace it brings. This training has opened up what yoga is all about more broadly, and what is at its heart. The teaching was truely exceptional, and the teachers were warm, considered, approachable and deeply knowledgeable. I left with a significantly developed understanding of yoga anatomy and physiology; the philosophical principles and history that underpin the tradition; and the importance of pranayama and meditation. It is worth noting that the course requires genuine hard work. The schedule is rigorous and physically demanding, but the reward matches the effort and the learning curve is palpable and valuable. True to their name - Yogkulam means "yoga family" - the school fosters an environment of trust, openness, and acceptance. Our cohort of mixed ages and backgrounds bonded beautifully and supportively, and there was a real sense of community and an experience shared. I miss them! Logistics were handled excellently and communication was excellent before, during, and after the course. The food was also great! 3 varied, nutritious and tasty meals a day. Shout out to Maggie the dog! I cannot recommend Rishikesh Yogkulam highly enough, and just want to thank the team again for the most amazing immersive experience.

I am so grateful that I chose Yogkulam…
I am so grateful that I chose Yogkulam for my yoga teacher training. What started as a journey to deepen my understanding of yoga became something much more meaningful—a journey inward and an experience that I know will stay with me for the rest of my life. The teachers were incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate about sharing not only the physical practice of yoga, but also its philosophy, history, breathwork, meditation, and the deeper meaning behind the practice. I appreciated that we were encouraged to question, explore, and experience yoga for ourselves rather than simply memorize information. Being in Rishikesh, surrounded by the Ganga and the Himalayas, made the experience even more powerful. There were definitely challenging days—physically, mentally, and emotionally—but those challenges became part of the growth. I learned that yoga is not just what happens on the mat. It is how we meet ourselves, how we respond to discomfort, how we let go, and how we carry ourselves through life. I am leaving Yogkulam with more than a certificate. I am leaving with a deeper connection to myself, a greater respect for the practice, lifelong memories, and a community of people who shared this incredible chapter with me. If you are considering yoga teacher training in India, I would wholeheartedly recommend Yogkulam. Come with an open mind, be willing to be uncomfortable, and allow the experience to change you. It certainly changed me.

Best place for your yoga training in Rishikes!
Rishikesh Yogkulam is a fantastic place. From the first day you feel like part of a family, as the name suggests. The teachers are highly professional. The school is located in a beautiful place away from hustle and bustle of Tapovan, but very close to the river with many excellent cafes and restaurant nearby. Highly recommended!
