The owner accused me of “doctoring” photographs documenting shipping damage, an accusation I find both inappropriate and unbecoming of a merchant. I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I received. Unfortunately, this kind of response seems increasingly common in an age when accountability can take a back seat to convenience. Based on my experience, this is not a small business I would recommend patronizing.

A Small Technical Masterpiece I love my 9Barista. As someone who is passionate about technology, I particularly appreciate elegantly integrated solutions that appear simple while being genuinely innovative. Applying a principle from an entirely different field of engineering to espresso preparation is simply brilliant. It is straightforward to use, the overall concept is refreshingly minimal, and the espresso it produces is excellent. I think it is wonderful that bold and thoughtfully engineered products like this are still being developed. The only downside is that since the 9Barista arrived at our office, hardly anyone wants coffee from our traditional espresso machine anymore. As a result, the 9Barista is now in constant use. But enough gushing for now.

My message to the 9barista team after a valve went, please note I’m happy the valve did its job. I am not the only customer this has happened to, I didn’t expect user blame to be used by the 9barista team after I explained what had happened, it’s not as if I was trying to return the item. My message to Guy at 9barista. Hi Guy, The water is indeed coming out of a hole in the safety ring, the safety ring failed as the water boiled but no coffee had come out of the machine. The shot was then seen being produced as the timer turned the heat off, please note there was a lot more steam than normal leading me to believe this is when the valve went, a full shot was made. The heat used was the same as usual, the shot was extracted and when I cleaned out the machine I disposed of the small amount of water left in the bottom chamber. Could it be, unlikely but possible, that the valve failed? I’m asking for future reference. It was on the next time I tried to use the machine I noticed the leak. I use an induction hob on a timer of 6min ( no6 ) the hob turns off before the end of the extraction. Having only had this machine since July, using approximately twice weekly, I am extremely disappointed that the valve would fail so quickly on such a well designed product. I know that you have provided a spare valve but would not have expected to have had to resort to using it within the first couple of months, leaving me to think I need to buy multiple valves for future failures and leaving me very dissatisfied with the product. I will replace as advised with the spare provided and await to hear your reply. The reply - Am I right in thinking that water is coming out of a small hole on the side of a gold coloured ring (shown below)? If so, you simply need to replace the safety ring. The safety ring is a fail-safe device which will safely depressurise the machine if it’s overheated; it can only activate when there is no water in the boiler. This most commonly happens if the machine is left on the heat for too long after it has produced coffee. It problem is it did activated when water was in the boiler, I purchased more spare valves and a complete rebuild kit ( that I haven’t needed to use ) just because I got no answer that made any sense as my version of what happened was dismissed. It’s a shame I didn’t get the same level of service as when I made my purchase.

Fantastic brewer. Exceeded all my expectations. Great espresso with a relatively easy learning curve .

Auch nicht für Geld. Unclaimed ist fair. Claimed gibt das Mikrofon — nicht den Radiergummi.
