We booked a four-day guided trekking…
We booked a four-day guided trekking tour that included accommodation and meals. Our guide, Bogdan, was exceptional! He was punctual, accommodating, and fun, with deep knowledge of Romania’s history and the hiking trails in the areas we visited. We felt very comfortable and safe with him throughout the trip. Overall, we had a very good experience booking the tour with Active travel.

Wonderful Experience at Peles Castle and Ialomicioara Cave
My group of three did a custom tour visiting Peles and Pelisor Castles, along with a visit to the Ialomicioara Cave. We had an absolutely amazing time!! Our guide, Tiberiu, was incredibly knowledgeable. He told us so many fascinating stories about the histories of all the places we visited as well as knowing when we should visit each place and the best way to get there so we could have the best experience. Both Romanian Friend (who we booked through) and Active Travel (who runs the actual tour) were very helpful and communicative throughout the entire process, letting us know which tickets we needed to buy in advance and how feasible this custom tour was. I highly recommend Active Travel as well as visiting Peles Castle and the Ialomicioara Cave and will book with them again!

Super guide and amazing places!
Bogdan is a super guide! He has a lot of interests and does plenty of activities, so everything is explained from the point of view of someone that knows and lives the places where you're taken! A long walk in the mountains, through the villages, with beautiful views, to finish with a really tasty and large lunch! Super recommended!

Excellent local insight
The half day tour from Brasov to Bran Castle and Rasnov was excellent and well worth it. Our guide, Charlie, was full of local insight into the spots we visited and into Romania as a whole. He chatted in a friendly, easy going way. He was so well informed and enthusiastic. Having a local guide really tells and it made our trip.

A perfect mountain adventure with Marian
My two teenage children and I spent a wonderful day hiking with Marian in Piatra Craiului National Park. The hike was around 20 km with 1,100 meters of ascent, and every kilometer was worth it. The route was stunning, with spectacular views and beautiful mountain scenery.Marian is an excellent guide: friendly, knowledgeable, reliable, and passionate about the mountains. He took great care of us throughout the day and shared interesting insights about the area.Everything worked flawlessly. Marian was on time, picked us up and dropped us off in Brașov, and drove a clean and comfortable Subaru Forester.If you are looking for a genuine mountain expert and a great hiking experience in Romania, I can warmly recommend Marian and Active Travel. Thank you for an unforgettable day! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
