CarWiz was trying to scam me
I booked a car via Ryanair to collect at Poznań Airport for my visit. As my trip had to be extended I phoned the car rental direct in advance to extend the hire, and I was told that there would be no problem. "It would be all sorted on arrival." But a completely different situation happened when I arrived. Firstly, I was informed that it's " very difficult" as my booking was done through a broker, so I would need to make an additional trip to extend the rental at a much higher price. I would need to contact them during a week hours and talk to a manager as well to get it sorted. When we agreed to proceed with the original booking for the shorted period, they checked my papers and refused to issue the car on the grounds that my credit card had first initial rather then my full first name. They did not accept the fact that this is due to my very long surname and it's a standard format on most UK bank cards. As a generous gesture, in the view of the customer assistance, I was offered the car if I purchased an additional insurance for the rented time that was way over the whole initial price I paid. I didn't in the end get the car and decided to choose a different rental company as I did not trust them anymore. I will not return to CarWiz and I'd advise against using them as they are not trustworthy.

SCAM - STAY FAR AWAY Neglected to rent without their full cover because the name on the credit card was not exactly the same as in the driver's license, no abbreviations / initials allowed. The same card was good to pay for their expensive full cover, 3x the total rental price.

Positive car hire experience
For us, renting from Carwiz Poland at Krakow airport was a positive experience. We arrived into Krakow in the evening, and had a short wait to be collected by a shuttle bus. I bought extra insurance to reduce my liability in the event of an incident....I do this for every car hire. I was surprised to learn that they required the car to be cleaned and valeted before the return....however, I paid a little extra to avoid that step. The car was in good condition, comfortable to drive (it was a Renault Arkana), and economical to run. There were no issues when I returned the car, and the deposit was returned to my account before we had arrived back at the airport terminal. The staff were friendly and helpful.

hidden extra cost which you find out on car collection
hidden extra cost which you find out on car collection.i was using them guys before with no problem. this time they didn't accept my credit can due to first name initial printed on the card not a full name. basicly forced me to buy an extra insurance which was more then car rental itself. due to be at the airport late i didn't have much choice left. aparently they look for anything they can to refuse your deposit and sell you an insurance: -not a full name on credit card -name not pressed on card, print only etc.. bit disapointed as I have liked them and due to this i will never go back to them. going futher i was chating to guy next door to them and this is common what they do now, finding a way to sell you an extra insurance. 23:30 and i was told to contact customer service which line is only open till 6pm. not giving you a choice but just to pay and take the car
