We are going to Barcelona in September…
We are going to Barcelona in September and reached out to the Catalonia Beach hotel twice to make a reservation. We received no response to either of our inquires. We then tried reaching out to Catalonia's main hotel site not directly with the hotel, the same thing no response. I guess our business is not that important. Looking at other hotel options now, however we wanted to share our experience and suggest staying away from this brand.

Hemos estado en el Hotel Catalonia Plaza Mayor de Salamanca, 4 estrellas. La verdad es que bastante decepcionada, las habitaciones antiguas, tenía una pequeña piscina en el terrado del hotel y era vergonzosa .. súper pequeña para un hotel de esa dimensión, se veía dejada, con poco mantenimiento de la zona. El desayuno no era de un hotel 4 estrellas, No repetiremos.

Catalonia sagrada familia hotel
I paid for the hotel through Booking for the dates July 10-14. We were given a room on the 8th floor by the hotel. However, the elevator broke down on the second day. My daughter and I had to climb 8 floors up the stairs. The electricity kept going on and off. The room phone didn't work at all. There are two narrow staircases on the floor I was . I don't think they have fire escape features. The air conditioning wasn't working properly either. We came to Barcelona to visit, but we couldn't leave our daughter in the hotel room and go out with my husband under these conditions. Location very far from the center.. We wanted to leave the hotel on July 12th, getting a refund for the remaining two nights. However, we were only refunded for one night, and that wasn't easy at all. They charged us for a night we didn't stay. We spoke to someone called a "manager," and he looked awful. It's a huge mistake to put such a terrible place on Booking.com.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro Beach - Espectacular
Ficámos alojados no Catalonia Royal Bávaro Beach, em Punta Cana, e não queríamos regressar a casa. O check-in foi extremamente rápido e todos os membros da equipa foram espetaculares, sempre com uma energia muito positiva e uma enorme disponibilidade, tornando a experiência verdadeiramente única. O quarto era espaçoso, estava sempre impecável e a cama era muito confortável. O minibar era reposto uma ou duas vezes por dia, o que também foi um excelente detalhe. Toda a comida era deliciosa, mas temos de destacar as buffalo wings do La Isla Snack Bar, que eram espetaculares. O Margarita Pool Bar também era magnífico, tanto pelo ambiente como pelo serviço. A praia tinha algum sargaço, mesmo com a barreira, mas sabemos que é algo que o hotel não consegue controlar. Havia muitas espreguiçadeiras disponíveis. O único ponto menos positivo eram os vendedores que chegavam à praia para tentar vender excursões e bijuteria, o que por vezes se tornava um pouco chati. No geral, tivemos uma experiência inesquecível e mal podemos esperar por voltar!

Poor customer service
The hotel itself was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the facilities. However, the staff were very rude and unhelpful. On several occasions, our drinks were cleared away while they were still half full, which was a little disappointing. We also experienced an issue after checkout when a friend realised they had left an item in the room. We asked whether someone could quickly check the room or contact housekeeping before we left, but were advised that any found items would be registered by housekeeping the following day. As we were due to depart that day, we had hoped for a little more assistance in trying to locate the item before leaving. It's a shame, as the hotel has so much to offer, but the level of customer service did not match the quality of the property.
