Avoid they going to rob you.
Avoid, avoid they going to rob you. It’s scam. And wasted money. I paid lots of money. All products from control4. But control4 not taking any responsibility. Dealers charging whatever they want. We don’t have choice because they have all controls. A month1-2 call out to fix max he spend 15-20min charging £200-£300 part extra money. Remember you can’t move anywhere else quickly.

control 4 system has been a total nightmare
both my next door neighbor and I bought new homes at the same time and the builder installed the control 4 system. it has been an absolute nightmare. what I would do just to have on and off switches. not only do I have to pay the $250 a year to have access to control 4, I have to pay a local vendor another $250 a month just to be on call to come out and keep the lights and plugs working. nightmare

Avoid them.
Installers didn't tell us it was a subscription service, 250 / year. We wanted not smart house crap, just control of our whole house audio. They said nothing would happen if we let the subscription slide. Which we have. Now all we can do is control wit a clunky unit in one room in the house. Their old system allowed cells to be used in house without subscription. I would never use these guys for anything. I am trying to find out if I can have the installers rip it out and replace it at their cost.

This company is the worst of the worst
The absolute worst. After spending thousands of $ burning through 3 "dealers" with little or no knowledge of the product, I finally decided to remove it and rid myself of the annoyance. I was able to find a buyer who, after 2 years of use, offered me 15 cents on the dollar. BUT...I cannot de-register the controller from the cloud, even though I've taken it off my account. So, nobody can use it and I'm stuck with it. I contacted the company and asked them to do it: "only authorized dealers can reset it". And they each want $200-$500 to do it (remotely via the automated "tools"). So, after paying thousands for something that never worked as advertised, I have to pay a ransom to some dealer to reset the controller (which is mine) so I can sell it to someone else who will likely have to pay $ to another "dealer" to register it. I would give them "0" stars if I could. RUN, don't walk, away as fast as you can.

Superb system when programmed well
System depends entirely on how it's programmed AND using reliable devices, So no CHEAP TVs or CHEAP components. Cheap stuff like DIY Stuff sold at stores is not robust enough to communicate with any control system We have had URC TOTAL CONTrol and RTI, both are supbar to C4. The cheap stuff sold at stores is meant to work alone and be done by anyone that can follow app instructions. AND NO, they are not automation systems, they are simple things that do basic functions that cannot be connected to by a computer. Control4 works excellent WHEN programmed well using, in addition to their own multi room matrixes, reliable TV, (High end SOny, some Samsung, a few LG's and Some vizios) No cheap TV. Denon/marantz work perfect with it, sonos too, heos too, blue rays too, DTVt too, NEst sucks, ECCOBBE IS WAYYY Better.
