I wanted to give zero stars!! This company is abysmal!!! The residents of MERRILL HOUSE GU14 6FU have been reporting out if order lifts since 6/11/2025!!!! We have repeatedly complained to Richmond & Harshit in person, by phone, by email, we've repeatedly complained to customer services, repeatedly written formal complaints, all to no avail!! We are continuously lied to, they tell us they are looking into the matter, waiting for a part, going to re do the whole lift system, NOTHING has been done, all they do like is for us to continue paying our service & maintenance charges, we paid over £916 in December 2025 & the same amount in July 2026.....where has all this money gone? The communal entrance door does not close, it was reported they did a bodge job so it's still not closing, outside floor lights that don't work, by the entrance STILL have not been changed, the carpets on the stairs STILL have not been cleaned, can't remember the last time the window cleaner was here. This was all talked about when we had 1 residents meeting with both Richmond (property manager) & Harshit ( area manager) on 19/6/26 They both promised to get all of this resolved....they haven't......they ignore calls & emails....we get no updates.....this is a health & safety matter. They are not doing their jobs, this company needs looking into for fraud/ corruption, WE NEED A NEW PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY!!! This company is not fit for purpose, we have older residents, families with young children, disabled residents, this is a HEALTH & SAFETY ISSUE!!! 10 MONTHS WITHOUT A LIFT!!!!! All we get is empty promises, someone is lining their pockets with our money!!!! DO NOT BUY/RENT ANYWHERE WITH THIS COMPANY ON CHARGE OF PROPERTY MANAGEMENT!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Our communal hallway roof has been leaking for 8 years now. Despite Firstport arranging what should be an easy fix, the last repair has made it worse. I have just come home after 1 hour of rain to find water all over the stairs of the communal hallway, Firstport were made aware of this problem early this year and so far have done nothing to rectify the problem. To make matters worse they have recently sent us a bill for the overspend they managed to make on the budget for last year, I queried this nearly 2 months ago but so far have been unable to get any explanation or response. I have escalated my query to a complaint but still no response.

After previous poor experience with a different management company in our first home’s new build estate, we had high hopes for First Port but ultimately they seem to have fallen into the same terrible pattern. We’ve now lived with them for two years, as they are the management company for the new-build development where we bought our home. In that time, our experience has been consistently poor. Every year we’ve had overgrown parts of the development, with grass cutting being highly irregular. Despite this, residents are charged thousands of pounds for the privilege, while queries raised by the community routinely go unanswered. I don’t want to knock them too much on the lawn mowing, though. Unfortunately, that appears to be the only thing we’ve actually seen FirstPort do for the development. The billing is another matter entirely. Every year in addition to the large yearly fee, households have received a series of spurious additional charges, typically between £50 and £89, with minimal explanation. We’re repeatedly told these are due to a “billing error” from a previous year. The first time we challenged one, we pointed out that the development was only half built at the time they claimed the charge related to and, crucially, had no residents. After around three months, FirstPort suddenly realised that it actually, rather conveniently, related to the following year—when residents had moved in. They then proceeded to apply late-payment fees to the entire community who had been waiting for FirstPort’s response. It is difficult to understand what exactly we are paying for. FirstPort somehow justifies around £10,000 a year in management fees on an estate with a total annual bill of approximately £30,000. That is an extraordinary amount for a service which, from a resident’s perspective, seems to consist primarily of occasionally mowing some communal grass and sending questionable invoices. And if any residents do eventually manage to persuade them to do something else that they are already charging us for, they are, of course, more than happy to immediately add another fee—this time for everyone in the region. I already struggle to see the purpose of management companies at the best of times; they can sometimes feel like a modern-day legal loophole for extracting money from homeowners. Unfortunately, FirstPort barely even manages to maintain the veneer of a legitimate, functioning service. Two years in, the combination of poor public space maintenance, almost non-existent communication and inexplicable billing leaves us with one fairly straightforward question: What exactly are we paying FirstPort for?

It is now 1 year since the garage broke. Fp have no quotes the have know clue what the doing. Uk worst management company I think fo should be awarded a Medal . Only after leaseholders money Without proof. I can't wait to get rid this Company. I have spoken to professional management companies the can bring service charges down by 40%.

This company is obviously involved in different types of property management because the 4+* reviews seem unbelievably out of this world to me, a homeowner who is trapped by their service-fee gimmick and lies. This whole business for me is a scam. The gov knows it but they won’t do a lot because their houses are not managed by Firstport. I pay over £330 every 6 months to use the bin store. They painted my front and garage door once in 11 years. This is a scam. Why am I paying for the flats????? I wish I knew more about this before buying my house. The housing industry lobby groups are more powerful than children welfare groups in this country. It's a shame. They should be taken to court.
