I bought ATLAS and UFO on Gate.io in December 2021, and both transactions are clearly shown in my completed Spot trading history. The records show: * 3,321.52 ATLAS purchased for 445.08368 USDT * 15,892,876.3 UFO purchased for 445.0005364 USDT However, these assets are no longer visible in my account. I contacted Gate.io Support to ask what happened to my funds, whether the tokens were delisted, migrated, converted, or otherwise affected. I expect a clear explanation and a complete transaction history showing what happened to assets that I legitimately purchased. This is extremely concerning. If an exchange removes or migrates an asset, customers should be clearly informed and given a transparent record of where their holdings went. I am currently waiting for Gate.io to explain and resolve this issue. Based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend the platform.

Horrible experience
Horrible experience. They just put my account « under protection » without warning. It has been a week now, they keep on asking for various documents and although I provided everything the account is still closed and they are saying you need to patiently wait. Dont put your money with this exchange!!

Gate.io publicly promised "Full Compensation", but secretly withheld $12,477 of my funds.
UPDATE (August 20, 2026): Gate.io’s reply below mathematically proves they are stealing user funds.Gate.io replied with a copy-paste boilerplate script mentioning their "unified compensation plan". In their reply, they admit to deducting "unrealized losses" (using a 10 USDT example). This is a fundamental violation of futures trading principles. An UNREALIZED loss is floating. It is not real until the position hits its actual liquidation price or is closed manually. My position was completely safe. The real global market price of BICO never reached my liquidation level of ~0.108 USDT. By applying their "pre-anomaly snapshot", Gate.io forcefully closed my position at an artificial price without my consent, locked in a floating drawdown, and stole $12,477 of my margin collateral. If they hadn't maliciously closed it during their technical failure, my trade would be in a massive profit today.Furthermore, Gate.io completely ignored my concrete evidence of double standards. Another user with an identical BICO position (Twitter: @ipdaPiecoff) had a massive unrealized loss before the anomaly, just like me. Yet, Gate.io gave him a 100% full refund simply because he complained loudly on Twitter. Their official Chinese announcement explicitly promised "100% compensation for ALL losses", yet they use hidden snapshot formulas in private tickets to keep client money. Do not trust their scripted responses. I am still waiting for the remaining $12,477 to be restored. Case / Ticket ID: 32870084(Original Review Below) _______________ On August 9, 2026, Gate.io experienced a massive platform anomaly on the BICO/USDT futures market. Due to a complete failure of their liquidity/market makers, the price spiked abnormally to 0.228 USDT. Meanwhile, on all other major tier-1 exchanges (Binance, Bybit, OKX), the price never exceeded 0.092 USDT. As a result of their internal system failure, my short position (which had sufficient margin) was unfairly liquidated. Following a massive community backlash, Gate.io published an official announcement stating they would provide "100% full compensation for all losses" caused by this liquidation glitch. However, their customer support is doing the exact opposite in private tickets. They invented a hidden "pre-anomaly snapshot formula" to deduct the floating (unrealized) loss my position had before the spike. Out of my $27,307 liquidation loss, they only refunded a portion, unjustly keeping $12,477 of my margin collateral. What makes this completely unacceptable is that the true global market price of BICO historically never reached my liquidation price. If Gate.io hadn't wrongfully liquidated me during their glitch, my short trade would be in a massive profit right now at the current market price of ~0.016 USDT. Instead of letting a winning trade play out, they forced an unauthorized closure, locked in a fake loss, and stole my margin. Furthermore, I have concrete evidence that Gate.io issued 100% full refunds to other users who complained loudly on social media, proving their policies are completely selective and unfair. Support has been ignoring my escalations since August 16. If an exchange refuses to honor its official public announcements and penalizes users for its own liquidity failures, your capital is not safe here. Avoid Gate.io futures. Case / Ticket ID: 32870084
