29th Aug 26 Melb airport going to Hobart - fares are not cheap enough to justify the absolute shitshow checking in bags (so many terminals not working) and waiting in queue for ages for boarding, no seating, no facilities. OneStar gives a new definition to cattle-class. Rating would be 0 if that were possible.

Really disappointed with how Jetstar has handled this situation. I contacted Jetstar before changing/cancelling part of a booking and specifically asked their customer service representative multiple times for clarification about what would happen to the value of the ticket and the resulting voucher. I explained the circumstances, confirmed that I had personally paid for the booking, and only proceeded after being reassured about how the credit could be used. When I later attempted to use the voucher, I discovered it had been issued in my former partner’s name and I couldn’t use it. I understand Jetstar has terms and conditions regarding vouchers. That isn’t the issue. The issue is that I contacted Jetstar specifically to clarify those conditions before making my decision and relied on the information their representative gave me. I have screenshots of the conversation and proof that the booking was paid for using my card. Despite this, Jetstar’s response has essentially been to quote their standard voucher policy back to me rather than properly addressing the fact that I was allegedly given incorrect information by their own representative. If I had been correctly told at the time that I would lose access to the value of the ticket, I would not have proceeded in the same way. Customers should be able to rely on information provided directly by a company’s customer service team, particularly when they repeatedly ask for clarification before making a financial decision. I’ve asked Jetstar to escalate the complaint and review the original conversation. Hopefully someone actually looks at the evidence and addresses the real issue rather than simply sending another response quoting the terms and conditions. A very frustrating experience and extremely disappointing from a company I’ve flown with numerous times.

Although I am entirely aware Jetstar is a budget airline and I don’t expect much, my experiences are always disappointing despite my very low expectations. But more importantly Jetstar is no where near as budget as you’d think. I need to go to Perth (ex Sydney) next week and Jetstar were a $120 more expensive for a return flight compared with Virgin Airlines (who don’t aim to be as “budget” as Jetstar). The main difference was due to the extra charges for luggage. One flight was going to charge an extra $75 for 1 checked item! The Virgin flights that included luggage and free seat selection were cheaper than the Jetstar equivalent with no luggage! So don’t assume Jetstar is cheaper. Btw they plan to introduce a fee for carry on baggage too! So they’ll just get even more expensive.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Jetstar today At the gate, my carry on luggage was approximately 600g over the limit. I was told I had to pay $85 or I would not be allowed to board I understand airlines have baggage rules and fees, but the way the staff spoke to me was rude, disrespectful and completely unprofessional. When I questioned and complained about the charge and the way I was being treated I was then told that I would not be allowed on the fligh I ended up missing my flight and had to purchase another ticket with Qantas to get to Brisbane, costing me even more money and causing a lot of unnecessary stress and inconvenience. My issue is not simply the baggage fee it is the way the situation was handled and the way I was spoken to Customers deserve to be treated respectfully even when there is a disagreement I have photos and details of the staff involved and will also be making a formal complaint to Jetstar. I expect Jetstar to investigate what happened and explain why I was refused boarding. Jet star👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
